Anyone know of any good excel courses (structured training) that would hit most of what we need in consulting? In-person options (in a pre Covid world?) Really struggling. Willing to pay.

I feel experience is the best teacher. As you go, you can just ask google how to do the issue at hand and find solutions. Vlookups, macros, conditional formatting are all useful

Agree with this! I would even perhaps take existing models and try to build yourself. But the first part is understanding what you are trying to do in excel. Excel is just the tool and google is a lifesaver!

YouTube - ExcelisFun you can follow along and this guy explains clearly with many tutorial videos that are digestible. Also he provides links to download the workbooks to follow along. I became an advanced excel user because of these videos

Are any of the paralegal exams worth it? Just spent some time looking at the requirements for PACE. I have a bachelors (and masters), neither in paralegal studies, no paralegal cert, but 9 years of experience. About 4 years in T&E and the last 5 in house corporate. Obviously haven’t had issues getting hired without a cert, but working on my development plan for my performance review and thinking about continuing ed. Curious for your thoughts. TIA!

Majority of my department has been informed we will need to look for other positions internally due to our jobs being outsourced. The timeframe for the full transition of all work to the vendors is approximately 6 months. This is the second time in 14 months I have had to look for another position due to outsourcing of work. Since I can only work remotely for my company due to location, is it best to resign or to hold out in hopes for a transition to another department?

Is there a recommended path here? Long one, finished in the comments.

So I make around 35% below market for my titled role. My employer used “startup” as the reason when I was hired, but they’ve finally stopped using that excuse. I was fine with it, because I was promised a promotion within 12 months due to scope change. I’ve now been promoted twice, but in responsibility only. My boss said it’ll be another 18-24 months until my director promo is approved and goes into effect. More in comments

I spent the first few years out of school working in music before getting into advertising as an account person. Quickly realized it wasn’t for me. Busted my ass working with the creatives on the side until I was able to build a decent enough portfolio for an agency to take a chance on me as a full time CW. I think I’ll be a Senior CW soon, but it feels like most folks my age (30) have been in that role for a bit or already past it. Since I can’t turn back time, any tips for catching up?

How to save money from monthly bills :
1) pay attention to auto and home insurance bills . The longer you stay with the provider, most likely your bill would go up . Since my wife and I are working from home for last 10 months , I was able to negotiate auto insurance bill and it’s now 30% less . 2 ) your wireless bill . Anytime you make changes , most likely your phone company will mess up your bill . Anytime they mess up, you can file complaint with FCC. My wireless company just issued me $300
