Doing some career planning and wanted some advice. I have 4 years for project management experience in production and I just started PMing at an ad agency.
1.How long should I stay in this position before making my next move?
2. What should my next move be?! (Stay in the company and try to scale up or move on.)
3. Would getting my PMP at this point be helpful?
Hi, I’m looking for a Recruiting Coordinator role that’s fully remote. I’ve been looking for a couple months and have probably applied to like 500 jobs, had interviews (past recruiter screen) with only maybe 7 companies that didn’t work out. I’ve made it to the final round twice to be told I wasn’t selected due to a slight experience difference. I’ve been in Hr for 5 years and have been in this role for 1.5 years now. Is anyone hiring?
Is anyone hiring post-fed clerkship litigation associates in NY or DC right now? Seems like the headcount at every biglaw and boutique firm is being siphoned off to corporate positions...
I’ve been in the HVAC industry for 11 years with 10 of those in the field as a technician. As a technician I was considered very capable and was always considered one of the best where ever I worked. I’ve moved on to sales and currently work inside sales at a manufacturer rep. I’m still searching for the outside sales role that I want but I keep running into the “I lack outside sales experience”. How did you get into outside sales? Any tips on how I can break into it Thanks for the help
I have an opportunity to become a fractional CMO for a startup that I really like. I have no idea what to charge hourly. I’m reading online $200/hr+ but that seems crazy to me. It would be a 1099 role.
Am I underselling myself if I charge $150/hour for 10 hours of work a week? I typically charge this for my existing freelance rates, but that is not for CMO work.
I am working as a Marketing Operations Coordinator and loving my job. I am very happy with my pay and the workplace. I have a little under 1 year of experience and recently graduated college. I’d like to know what are the growth opportunities like in a role? Anyone else start in this position and moved up? Or do people typically stay in this position? What does pay look like for someone in this role with more experience?
Can anyone help me out with a sample sales
territory plan? I’m looking to move from a fully inbound sales role to an external role managing a specific territory. This is going to be a change and a challenge that excited for! Any advice/tips would be most appreciated!
Hey all! How is Platinion for Software Engineers? I came across a position on your website and wanted to explore it. Currently at Deloitte Digital as a front end developer and looking to move
What's the best strategy for getting relevant Investment Banking/Capital Markets related internships (specifically in the fall)? I would even do some freelance research for no pay I just need experience in something other than FP&A (which is partly my role in my internship this summer). I would love to start in investment banking/PE but I'm afraid that graduating in three years makes getting relevant intern experience incredibly tough in such a short time frame. Any advice?
I'm offered a role of Specialist ( Package implementation) with 7 YOE @LTI. Is this equivalent to a role of team lead??
My wife will be quitting her job soon to be a SAHM to our infant. I’m currently on a high-deductible plan at EY (along with my our infant) but my wife is separately insured through her current employer. I’ll be adding her to my insurance (already maxing HSA) ... is there anything else I should be working on? Planning to roll her 401k into an IRA ASAP.
I hope all of you are doing well! I am new to Fishbowl and new to the Healthcare field. I very recently graduated with a B.A. in Human Resource Management and currently working as a Sourcing Specialist for TidalHealth - a large healthcare group in my area.
I was introduced to this app by a colleague of mine and am hoping to have a positive and education experience! I will be trying my best to keep interacted with members here and learn as much as I can.
Been looking to leave current over 10 years at company for less toxic corp and fully remote.
Got offer last week, negotiated base salary already, they came up around 4.3% (=current salary)
They offer 15 PTO, I have 20 (plus some optional days), trying to figure wording to now negotiate PTO, or is it too late and looks bad?
I was asking to confirm role grade or level, clarification on monetary bonuses and then about PTO
I’m usually super agreeable and vague so not sure how to balance wording
Is it true that it’s exceedingly difficulty to transition from insurance defense work (7+ years) to either commercial litigation or an in-house position? I’m worried about staying on this path for too long, becoming pigeon holed and not being able to get out of it.
Just got hit with bad news that I likely have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Being in healthcare, I feel like I took it very laid back. Seems like I should be more upset than I am but I’m not. Anyone else in healthcare feel this way when/if they get bad news affecting their own health
Thoughts on an agency having a candidate do a case study for a Strategy Director position? What have you come across in your experience? Things to watch out for?
I am trying to land a role as a human resources business partner and I'm wondering which certification would be the best for me going forward. Phr? Shrm? Thoughts? Thanks!

Hi all. Suggestions to choose between BCG and pwc AC for similar package and similar role. BCG role is internal and not client facing.
A question for the entertainers out there (magicians, dancers, DJs, really just anyone who is hired to work at parties). Have you ever turned down a job because something about the person asking to hire you just felt "off"?
Hello again folks. I’ve been troubleshooting for 3 years, and I need to make more for my family. I also love to communicate, and want to get into technical write. Would anyone refer me, and I’m open to ?’s.
Is anyone able to refer me to FTI Consulting? They have position open which I would be a good fit for. Willing to DM my resume.
Hypothetically: If you had covid19 and recovered fully, how would this change the way you went about things now?

My manager consistently expects that I’m available for calls at 7-8pm or that I can take on weekend work. How do I break free from this without seeming like I’m not dedicated or invested in the work?
I’m looking for 2 CW roles:
1) senior-ACD: CULTURE CULTURE CULTURE you’ve done it all. Fashion. Shoes. Music. QSR. You’re dialed into trends, social, influencer. You know how to translate an idea from concept to execution. You have relevant work. You know love and play in all the platforms. FTE. No visas. Remote ok.
2) mid-senior: email marketing, DTC, drip campaigns. This isn’t sexy/flashy/cultural. I need people who can and will flourish on email marketing & content production. DM me.
I’m a new associate working for a well-known defense attorney in my state. On one hand, I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best, but he also excoriates and belittles me for my mistakes. Any advice on how much it tolerable? I am here to learn and advance my career but he can be pretty nasty. (My mistakes are no worse than you’d expect a 1st year associate to make, in case you’re all wondering if I’m a major screw-up who deserves it) I leave work feeling a foot tall.
Starting out to be an Investment Advisor with just couple of accounts under management. Is there any good book about being a better advisor providing better investment performance?

I’m a Jr litigation associate at a small firm. Juniors are constantly told to bill for all their time and outs the partners responsibility to write time down. So I’ll bill for everything, incl. .1 for emails I’m just copied on or when I’m following up on work I’ve turned in with no response. I’ve just been told by a fairly new partner to no longer do this. I’m inclined to check with other associates on whether this is what they’ve been told (lots of inconsistency) and ask my EP. Thoughts?
I would appreciate any advice on how to stay on top of non urgent tasks. As a 2nd year, I’m often tapped to handle tedious tasks that need to get done quickly. Tbh, I like urgent matters. It motivates me and helps me focus. I admittedly struggle to care about checking in on DWQs, record requests, OC’s discovery, scheduling matters, etc. Especially with so many cases. I definitely rely heavily (maybe over rely?) on the paralegals for these sort of things. Any tips?
2 +yrs out of law school. @ Civ defense firm; high case load; no mentoring; do I take 15k cut offer from reputable firm promising lower case load, focus on mentoring, promising first chair exp?

Does anyone else feel like they are becoming less confident as they get more senior? When I was right out of my clerkship I felt really confident because I have good research and writing skills; but I feel like I don’t have spectacular judgment when it comes to making all sorts of less studied decisions and it makes me feel incredibly nervous and not confident. I figured I’d get more confidence as the years went by, but I feel like I trust myself and my abilities less.
2.5 more days until I can officially put ID behind me to go back plaintiff- side. I’m not opposed to defense work in the future but ins defense? No way.
It’s my last day at my office and I want to make it special somehow (since no one here planned anything). What should I do? Creative ideas welcome. 💃🏻
Just accepted an offer to join a plaintiffs firm after 7 years in ID. Any advice on getting started after switching sides?
I’m a newly minted partner in a small (~10 lawyers) commercial litigation boutique made up primarily of former Big Law lawyers. We practice mainly in NY and NJ. I changed cities several years into my career so I do not have as big a professional network as many of my colleagues and am having a tough time developing business. Best strategies? BNI? Local bar association? What has worked best for you? Thanks in advance!!
I was just a part of Lyft’s layoff. I am looking for an in-house paralegal position. Any leads?
How do you succinctly explain to a non-lawyer what you do? If I respond, “I’m a litigator,” I feel this means very little to a non-lawyer. To make matters worse, I am junior with no specialization, so I can’t really answer what type of law (“uh, whatever the partner assigns me which has lately been employment”). I often will say that I am defined by my skill set of representing clients in disputes and in court. But don’t feel I’ve nailed a nice elevator pitch (or shorter) of what I do.
Scheduled for a binding arbitration hearing next week in court, and finalizing my opening and closing statements. How fast and loose can I play with the pleadings? Contd
