Anyone know of partners or clients willing to hire people without WD experience? Not a new grad program, but one that’s geared for experienced folks/career pivots. TIA!

Typically for experience hires these are consultants with experience in other technologies or people working on the client side. Then we have a program to train college hires.

I went to CS via a career pivot. Had prior HR experience, but not WD. While I was there we hired several employees who were new to the ecosystem, but had really good working backgrounds in speciality areas (payroll, benefits for example). They always made some of the best consultants bc they had first hand experience of how these areas operate in the "real world".

Guys what type of configuration are we talking about here? I’m not talking about easy HCM business process stuff. I’m talking about difficult calc engine stuff that you won’t find solutions to on community, integration customizations and overrides etc. private sector business people generally don’t have the exposure to the difficult workday specific stuff across more challenging industries like manufacturing, higher Ed and healthcare. I’d rather hire a workday person that can demonstrate that they’ve done it before. Not talking about stuff everyone has done a million times that you can find the answers to on community. Not saying the business background isn’t useful. Just that the Workday solution background is far more useful when you are faced with a challenge that not many people have seen that you have limited time to solve. In that scenario, the business stuff isn’t very helpful.

Feel free to DM me with your background and I’ll let you know if I have anything for you.

Do you currently work at CS without Workday experience and are looking for a new role?

No, I am a Workday consultant, have a friend trying to get into ecosystem.

Kainos have a growing Workday practice that focuses on AMS, IMPL and post deployment services. A lot of folks who work in the post deployment side (Smart, Audit etc.) don’t necessarily come from a WD background. For example, some were teachers, accountants etc before!

Intecrowd hires folks who are doing career pivots as well.
