Anyone know of someone who became a JAG or OCG after big law? I wouldn’t mind the pay cut given their hours and benefits, but don’t know what those paths would look after the mandatory service.

I will defer to actual JAGs, obviously, but I really thought about doing this when I was a junior. I think if you want to go federal government afterwards it’s great experience and I see a decent number of government (trial lawyers especially) attorneys who were former JAG. Other types of private sector employment, however, I think it’s neutral to a net negative.
