Is there a general expectation that a Partner has an MBA?

I doubt it's required at most firms but I'm a pretty senior staff and when I speak with Partners, they seem to speak with an MBA level of business knowledge which extends past their technical skillset.

I realize that's what makes them good Partners but it makes me wonder if I realistically need to get an MBA to keep growing and hit Partner.

I am a practice manager and I work with two older doctors who either complain about everything from notes to schedules etc. and even with the amount of time and effort I’ve put into to address those concerns I.e. setting admin time, utilizing PA’s and NP’s managing schedules within the office- even had to sit next to a doctor to make sure he’s completing his notes during 30min admin time- they still manage to complain! It’s driving me insane. What should I do?

Is it dumb to quit your not-so-great paying and toxic full-time job to work one maybe two part-time jobs just to get out of your current situation? I have a college degree and a lot of editing, writing, and customer service experience, so I want to get another full time soon, but I just really hate my current job and am thinking of doing something simple, like being a barista again. At least for the time-being. Is this smart/not smart?

Looking for a strategy practice partner to complete a deck of strategy exercises with.

1-2 practice exercises and 1 zoom call a week.
I’m flexible on the duration.

Anyone interested?

I recently moved into a new place that has windows with metal frames. I noticed that now in the winter months since it's cold outside the window frames have a lot of condensation and everything is soaked. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this normal or should I be telling like the building management about it? I'm scared that it might ruin the wood and paint around the area.

Giving notice next week to someone who went out of her way to recruit and hire me away from my old firm and has been really good to me. She worked for over a year to get me to come over. Now after only 6 months I’m going back to my old firm but in a different (better) group than I was in before. I am dreading the convo and feeling guilty but need to get over it. FWIW I’m 2012 and we are getting crushed with lack of senior people hence more guilt…. Just looking for a little encouragement :)

Some good news after almost 11 months of applying and interviews and lots of rejections finally got an offer! In NYC small firm, ex big law folks, no billable hours, niche practice area, appearance of forwarded thinking firm, remote till who knows when, emphasis on pro bono initiatives and building book of business.
