Hi fishes, I need some clarification from you wise bunch.
I have 1.4 years of experience as a functional consultant (Oracle HCM) and my CTC is 4.4 lpa (minus the variable it's 3.2), I recently got promoted and yet to know the new amount that I'll be offered by end of this month. I have an offer from PwC India and they're offering 7.5 lpa (can go higher once I share my revised letter from current employer) What should I do? Kindly provide me some info on the standard salary range at this stage.

Does your current company ask your offer letter to retain you if you have filed for separation and say that another company is giving good package?

I moved cities and my company is giving me 12% decrease in my salary. My current salary is within my new cities range, and I am definitely not paid market rate to begin with…also for context I have always been a high performer, have many relevant certifications, and am involved with initiatives outside my billable work

I’m not interested in accepting a decrease this large. What happens if you don’t accept it? Do you see if they come back with something more reasonable or will they fire you?

Has anyone ever had to do the second step of an interview over slack? It was a legitimate company not a scam. The person I would be working with said the second interview after an assignment was over slack. They asked me in the first interview about my writing skills. They said since it's a remote company most people I'd never speak with directly and everything would be asynchronous through slack. Is this typical?

Anyone have tips for proper slack etiquette or resources to share?

Hi all! I wanted to share a tip I’ve learned that really helped me nail these interviews I just did. At the end of each interview, I always followed up with “Was there anything on my resume that I could provide some clarification for you?” This allowed my interviewer to bring up any further concerns/questions and let me really highlight my strengths, and gave me a chance to alleviate those concerns for them. I really do think this was a key factor as to why I got the job I did!

CEO has alluded to me being a great CoS based on recent exp, and longer term COO and has asked if I’m going to find the EA role limiting. Do I address my interest in the CoS role, plus gaps in my experience or do I focus on the EA role and finding opps to add value outside of EA responsibilities without stepping on the CoS toes? Started interviewing to get negotiation leverage as our company is being acquired. Got some offers but I’m getting offers faster than the acquisition deal is closing within my current role. What could be a good interview answer to the reason for moving from PA SM to Tax Director/VP tax role?

Anyone else getting ghosted by HR after being basically at the finish line? I’ve interviewed with two different companies and every interview going great. Five interviews in with both and then weeks later seeing they hired someone else on LinkedIn. I’m not mad they hired someone else but annoyed that they never send out an email or call saying they are going in another direction. Seems poor practice and makes me never want to work with them in the future.

I finished my Amazon loop interview and received a good feedback from the recruiter. A few days later, she called asking about a possible start date and location, and requested me to send a copy of my ID. She told me the result will come out in two days and exactly two days later, she told me the result is delayed and to wait a few more days. I can't help but feel like I didn't get the job. Anybody got a same experience?

Question: so towards the end of the interview, I asked the interviewers "so I notice you have both been here for over 14 years, why have you guys stayed here for so long?"

Is that rude? My main reason was I wanted to see what it would be like being at this company. I don't want to job hop from one company to another company. But that could have sounded negative.

I'm scheduled to have my first interview with Stripe this week with an Exec Recruiter for a non-tech leadership position. I have a few friends of friends there, also in leadership positions, and I'm wondering when the smartest time to ask them to advocate for me might be? Now? Wait til I advance further? Coming from a world where hiring processes are informal and the single most-important thing is who you know at a company, I'm a little unfamiliar w/ the tech world interview process.

Tips on interviewing and navigating being sick? Some interviewers don't want to wait...but also look at you like you have two heads if you proceed with the zoom interview.

3rd round with the woman who would be my direct line manager if I got the role. Content marketing manager role, she was head of content. She was late, underdressed/not too presentable, and unprepared! Felt like I was having to move the conversation forward. Lots of long pauses, and I did most of the conversation-bridging.

Thoughts? Ideas? Interpretations?
