I was counseled out my last job. After grinding for about 3 months, I was able to land a position with a 50% pay bump. After the initial relief, I am now dreading going back to work. At my last job, I was having regular panic attacks. I’m worried that my mental health will relapse after I start working again.

I am interviewing for a new IT Manager position. I started putting out soft feelers and then hit the hunt harder. The problem: I have one offer and need to give an answer by next Wednesday. I have two other opportunities that are in final steps but probably won’t have offers by next Wednesday. Both of the other offers will be higher pay but clearly are uncertain for offers. Do I accept the offer I have, which is a good one or wait for the other two to finalize and possibly miss out altogether?

Received an offer from a small firm for 25k more than my current salary. Problem is it is about an hour away and I’m required to go into the office a minimum of 2 days a week. I’m not necessarily unhappy at my current firm but I started looking for other opportunities because I was curious what other firms were offering. Also Office I work at is very small and we just lost a senior. So I will be the only senior there this tax season. Worried I might burn a bridge if I leave.

- Uber (used to be 4% cash back on dining; they've since updated this to 5% uber cash. I never use uber so I let this card expire)
- SavorOne from Capital One (unlimited 3% cash back dining & entertainment; 2% groceries)

I mainly spend on dining, groceries, gas, and online purchases (amazon, target). Maybe travel when things calm down but not right now.

We are working on trying to convince firm management to update their very outdated meal reimbursement policy. Do others mind sharing what theirs are? I run a boutique law firm that generally represents large investment advisers F100 clients. Well we sued another large investment adviser and it’s getting some publicity however, I don’t want to be known as a Plantiffs firm. How can we manage that image while sueing a top RIA.

I don't think I have ever felt so stupid before. My firm recently hired someone who was barred in 2021. I was barred 2019. I took it as I was senior to him and tried to mentor him. Well the joke is on me. Because he worked for the govt for some years before becoming an attorney, they made him a SENIOR associate. He has 0 prior attorney experience. Yet he's a senior. I have no words.

Has anyone made the switch from corporate law to criminal law ? Feeling very unfulfilled as a corporate specialist in a big law firm and am thinking about pivoting to criminal pd work. Not concerned about finances at this point.
