In under 10 years of working I’ve managed to make a 70K jump in salary. My last role was a 40K jump into the six figure range and it was a really tough transition (mostly because of poor senior leadership). I’m looking at a new role that would would be a title bump + 20K more than my last. I’m scared that I’m going to make more but underperform. Recently found out from market research for my level in my industry that I'm VASTLY underpaid vs the market BUT employees at the same level in countries in Europe where our HQ is and where half my team live are even paid much less than me (converting to USD). So do I push for fair market compensation for US or will that make me first target for layoffs and look replaceable to higher ups than rest of my team so not worth the risk?

2017 grad so technically a 4th year. Lateraled to a CRE boutique in NYC that’s a major player. Learned quickly that my experience/knowledge/organization is not up to par (was a COG in the machine at prior firm). Just had EOY review and, though positive sounding, they’re dropping me to a 3rd year to ensure I’m not billing as a 4th year and able to do the work to learn/get up to par.
