Damn and I thought it was poorly run when I was there nearly 10 years ago
lol i jus “graduated” from there. it’s just a complete mess and i feel like everyone is fed up with Jeff. the instructors are underpaid but somehow they still get some amazing Creatives to come teach. it has very little structure, they just moved locations, and i think it’s just struggling to keep up with itself because of Covid/remote-ness and seemingly it’s ran by like 2-3 people
It was a mess long before COVID. But if that’s the death nell for them then good riddance.
I used to teach at CPS, which is why I recommend DAD to every student I talk with.
The books coming out of DAD suck. The writing is so flat. The design all looks the same.
To paraphrase Adam Driver in that space movie: Let it die. Kill it if you have to!
Jeff’s a piece of shit. Everyone who ever went to that school knew it. He has been tolerated for far too long. Glad he’s finally being market corrected.

Seems like some staff left and started a new school AGAIN
All on board for seeing Sarah and Fran getting praise here. Two incredibly talented people and just all around solid human beings. Really excited they’re the brains behind the new school.
CPS was chaotic when I was there 4 years ago and I can’t imagine how it’s going to be now that the two women who were essentially keeping it afloat are gone. Jeff had gotten us evicted from the original building my first quarter there due to not paying rent. We hopped around weworks and other coworking spaces until my 5th quarter when they had gotten the new building… which I guess they’ve since left. It’s unstable for students and instructors combined.

interesting, i went back and forth for a long time about going to CPS and eventually got my job without it. was kinda sad cuz i wanted to make ad friends in chi but it sounds like i dodged a bullet
yeah i think i managed fine without it but i’m most sad that i didn’t get to meet people and be a part of the community there
