Hey all, Been out of work for about a year now, been interviewing and actively since being laid off due to companys budget cut. Was in final / decision rounds before covid and everything has been tbd or rescinded since. Responses have been few and far in between and now the year gap is becoming a concern. Would like to ask if anyone has tips or can point me in the right direction. I come from a management consulting/prod mgt background in tech. Disregard the risk consultant title.
Advice for re-entering the workforce after a 3 year gap? I had some health issues that made me leave my career in 2018, and by the time I was healthy enough to work again, covid started and I was unable to get any interviews. I haven't been able to find the motivation to cold apply for jobs again because I'm not quite ready to go through all the rejection like I did last time. How do I get over this? And how do I edit my resume to explain the gap?
I have a feeling my Engagement Partner wants me to quit the engagement. It's my 3rd week, but he's been nothing but rude, demeaning and unhelpful. Refuses to answer any of my questions and then berates and belittles me for not knowing the answers. He already threatened to "replace" me if I don't show adequate progress. Roll off voluntarily or wait until he fires me?
For consulting managers/project leaders who managed teams and case projects, how did you find transition to a people manager role in industry? What were the biggest surprises (cont’d)
I love orange is the new black but can’t stand how the inmates make pop culture references that they wouldn’t even know had they been in prison since at least 2013.
Life sucks sometimes. I had a miscarriage (in a hotel room of course...) in June and can’t seem to stop thinking that I was going to have a baby this month. Time to step back & appreciate what I have!
Quoted $100-120K, 10% bonus, no RSU for Sales Strategy & Ops at Salesforce (4.5 YOE). Super lowball right?
How long does it usually take to hear back after MBB final round? I think this was off cycle for experienced hires and it’s been 7 working days - should I keep waiting or move on? TIA!

Had a bad experience at a Marriott location. The lights in the room kept going on and off. The cleaning lady broke my electric brush and there was dust on the tissue boxes in the bathroom.
@PWC fish. Does anyone know of someone who has successfully used AC21 portability to join on an EAD and have pwc take over green card sponsorship?
Getting really sick of health care providers and my own health insurance company trying to constantly screw me on medical bills. I've caught errors on the last 5 bills I've received. Starting to think this is happening on purpose...
Which insurance co has the best VUL policy?
Do MBB care if a candidate wants to switch jobs a few months after landing the most recent one? Having legit fit issues and would like to switch sooner than later.. Does Bain hire lateral candidates with just over a year of experience? What about the other two?
I just read this crazy article about how poorly ad agencies treat people who are struggling with mental illness and other health issues. The person’s boss called them during minor surgery several times (which they knew they were having), to ask about budget pacing. Link to the article here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/surviving-big-agency-mental-health-story-jonathan-jono-decosta What can we do to stop such toxic behaviors? Why does health, both physical and mental, not matter to these ad agencies? I’m curious if anyone else has similar tales. What agency do you think this was at?
My agency just unveiled pension provision at the legal minimum as if it's a massive perk. Still lags everywhere else I've heard of. Jokers
