Anyone who has had a baby while working at LEK care to share what the experience was like for you (honestly)? Trying to make sure my next firm is a long term pick and I like LEK, but the horror stories on WLB have me worried that raising a family in a few years will be damn near impossible there.

My friend works in Airline Pricing, it's actually a manual spreadsheet that they update. With dynamic pricing variables.
It's all based on fare buckets, they price out the fare buckets each day and the lowest fare bucket is the cheapest ticket they're willing to sell for the flight. You're not going to get a cheaper flight than the one with seats remaining in the lowest fare bucket. People say 3-6 months out because most people don't plan that far in advance so all the lowest fare buckets are still available.
You bet! Their alert feature is really useful. Set your planned trip into it and setup alerts for when they predict it to be the lowest. Pretty darn accurate.
I'm looking at tickets from early Feb to end it Jun. It's $120-130 now. Usually it's like $80-90 last year, if you buy two months in advance and not holidays. All airlines are the same.
^D1 really! Any rules of thumb you know? I heard the lowest price comes at 6 months for international and 3 months for domestic in advance.
Thanks D1! What I'm seeing now is the price from Feb to Jun is the lowest. And it bounces back in July with additional ~$20.
Thanks A1! Great App! Playing with it right now! Hopper predicts a drop of $50-60 for a round trip in a week. Then I'll be slightly higher than normal.
Airlines sometimes eliminate routes in a new year. Prices can go up if a competing airline stopped flying the same route as your current airline.
