Yup mate - you need a visa. You can apply for it at any Bahamas consulate in the US. It’s very easy
You can check these things on sites like https://www.united.com/web/en-US/apps/vendors/default.aspx?i=TIMATIC
If you have a valid H1, this seems to say you don’t need a Bahamas visa, though it’s worth verifying with a consulate:
Bahamas - Destination Visa
Visa required.
The following are exempt from holding a visa:
Nationals of India with a visa issued by Canada, United Kingdom, USA or Schengen Member State for a maximum stay of 90 days.
Passengers with a Permanent Resident/Resident Alien Card (Form I-551) issued by the USA for a maximum stay of 30 days.
Above is incorrect- you do need a visa. Unless something changed in the last year - my wife and I had to get the bahamas visa from the consulate in nyc prior to travel
I take that back - it looks like they recently made this change, but as P2 said worth checking with the consulate
The link I posted is a web interface to Timatic, the same system used by the airlines to verify you have appropriate documentation at check on, so if it’s wrong, it’s costing the airlines a lot in fines and costs to transport back people refused entry :-)
Nope you are accurate
