Anyone leave Big4 for the startup life? How's that transition?

Don't expect much in salary increases or bonuses at a startup. You'll probably learn a hell of a lot more but don't expect stability.

Why do you think a start up would be a good learning experience?

From my experience, you're (I wasn't) bound to many of the corporate policies and you're not behind the technical eight ball. I can only speak on the technical side, though. You go through the motions that you traditionally don't get to with a preexisting foundation like PwC.

Hey guys, I work as a freelance designer for 6years + in Brazil and I have worked in some other places around. I’m receiving a lot of proposals for freelance jobs from US, but since I’m a senior designer I don’t usually work by hour but by projects and I’m having some difficulty to understand the US market prices. Can anyone give me a estimate about a simple logo Id? Just for me to have a notion, considering that I’m a senior designer. Thanks :)

Question: can an employer legally withhold your personal possessions after you leave the firm? I left my old firm recently and they were not happy about me joining another consultancy. They are withholding any belongings that I left in the office and have ignored my emails asking to arrange a pick up or delivery of my personal items. I understand the covid19 environment impacts the situation, but anything I can do to get my stuff back? Any help would be appreciated. I’m based in NYC!

For those who also have left-leaning personal politics, do you ever struggle working in CRE? It never really bothered me when I was working for a firm - probably because I had such a limited view of the deals I was handling. However, I moved in-house about 6-months ago and the more strategy meetings I attend the more uncomfortable I feel. I’m just wondering if I’m alone in this and how other people have been able to reconcile these situations. Thanks!

My manager despises talking about the pandemic and WFH policies, he said to stop asking about it during a team meeting. Anyone else experience this kind of tone in leadership? Shouldn’t they realize it’s going to be a huge topic for years?

It's the person who sometimes posts about her mom being a tough situation- hey guys! Just an update that if your spouse prepares joint tax return for the year without your consent, forges your signature, and steals the full refund, it seems you actually can report that fraud through IRS form 14157 and 14157a. Just a friendly tip from my personal digging on IRS site in case anyone else is in this situation, since the IRS hotline never knows how to help people in serious need! 🥳

What’s the typical interview process at PwC like? I met with a recruiter and we went back and forth for a few months, then interviewed with the director of a specialty group.
