Currently working with a PM group in the Comm/Tech/Media industry and layoffs are rampant. PM need is largely based on budget, from what I’ve seen… which varies throughout the fiscal year and based on *cough* MERGERS.

The idea of random layoffs makes my anxiety go through the roof

Quick outfit etiquette question from a junior lawyer... I am going to be attending an inspection of our client’s product (destructive testing to be performed on the product at a lab). What is appropriate attire? Can I get away with jeans and a nice pair of sneakers with a blazer or button down or should I look more professional? For context, all experts and opposing counsel will also be attending, 6-7 hrs, and it’s taking place in Southern California. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

My coworker, who was my friend for a long time, has been lying to me, throwing me under the bus, and taking credit for my work and ideas. I have done more and worked harder than him but he was promoted. He failed a new client big time and I was asked to step in and save the relationship which I did in a big way. Why do I have to work so hard every day while he gets away with scraping by and plagiarizing? How do you deal with a coworker like that?

I grew up in a family that doesn’t really resolve conflict. We make passive aggressive comments or just brush it under the rug because it always blows up into a fight. How do you bring up conflict/raise issues in a relationship or even during dating? I notice guys will ignore a message or try to make a joke to avoid addressing something and I don’t want to nag by bringing it up again, so I end up feeling ignored a lot until I resent them. What’s the best way to do this?

For the past month, while I'm booked for 45 hrs, I'm only getting work of around 2-3 hrs from the onshore. Should I raise this issue and if yes, to whom? (It's my 5th month at gds)

I eventually want to transition my career into a crypto related field. Been lost in this space for the last 3 years and want to make it my career. Just got my SA promotion in cyber. What skills can I develop to push for transitioning to a crypto/Web3 company? I’m thinking more technical skills like solidity, but most of my experience is related to being a cyber/consulting generalist. Wondering how much the skills I have vs. technical skills can help. I want to set some goals for myself.

I feel completely lost at work. I started at a new company 1 month ago and got put on a client that’s just as confused as I am. I’m only associate level (with a little experience from my last firm) but I feel like I’m “in charge” of this audit. I feel like nothing on the audit has been done and I’m soooo nervous for manager review. Wtf do I do?! I’m so overwhelmed.

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia for retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax, va(ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). They currently in the mid west but WVirginia appeals to them because of low taxes, low cost of living. We are also poc so appreciate some diversity. What are some areas you would recommend both in Va and WV? What else should they consider prior to house hunting? Dad likes to garden/farm as well so looking for homes with large backyards. Tia!
