Hi! Looking for a fully remote role in fintech or a larger/global established organization after working in government for 12 years. Over 10 years as an HRBP/Sr and 2 years in a leadership role. Have my PHR/SHRM-CP and CCP. Love comp but my experience is limited to a smaller organization (500). Have applied to many roles but struggling to even get interviews.

Does anyone know if Yellow Shoes (Disney’s in-house marketing agency) offers remote roles (or roles in Chicago)?
I’ve seen one role posted on job search sites as being located in Chicago, Chicago suburbs, and Glendale, CA, and on the Disney site itself it’s listed as being in Celebration, FL and am not sure what to make of it.

Curious if anyone has started doing in-person meet-ups. For eng/product/design I feel that it would be good to do occasional in-person “offsites” at the office or a wework for collaboration sessions, or just to work together every once in awhile. Has anyone started doing this? Since people are remote and spread out across the US, it needs to have justification but how do you justify “face time”/“collabs” - should it be tied to very specific projects?

My direct report is absolutely imploding, and I don’t know what to do. This is her first job out of college and she doesn’t ask questions, she doesn’t tell me when she has too much on her plate - she just lets deadlines quietly slide and hopes nobody notices.

I’ve had convos with her to get a sense of her working style, I’ve even told her that I will gladly take things off her plate - but she never lets me know until it’s too late. Has anybody had any success in turning things around?

Help. I work with 5 female accounts - all either an AD or senior. In every meeting I seem to be the only one with no support - either I work on projects that gets least attention or escalated attention (only to be fingerpointed after for not “sharing at the right time”), no back-up when I am ooo/sick, no support when a client asks for things I clearly had been waiting their internal approval about, and apparently everything I do is wrong or met with eye roll when I ask for review. Asking for a friend (really). I don’t know what advice to give her. She started a job that pays great and is 100% remote. The work is meh, and her boss turned out to be horrible. She asked all the tough questions in her interviews because she didn’t want to work for another bad boss.
Now she’s afraid to leave because 1. How can you figure out the temperament of you boss if everyone likely lies? 2. Can she leave after only a couple months without it looking like she’s flakey?
