Any moms have trouble sleeping at night even if your kid is? He sleeps through the night (for now) but I have trouble falling asleep and if I wake up, I Toss and turn for hours. If I’m not in my own bed I barely sleep at all. This insomnia started during my third trimester
In Lady Gaga's voice 🎶There ain't no reason you and me should be alone Tonight yeah baby, tonight yeah baby But I got a reason that you-hoo should take me home tonight I need a man that makes it ri
Let’s start a conversation around parental leave - how is it at your agency. Does your agency do enough to support new parents? What changes can we make in our industry to better support working parents? Share your stories about being a working parent.
I got an email last night from a 7th-grade parent because her son said I mentioned the words "male privilege" in class, and she is very concerned about how that is related to ELA (she said "reading"), and she is concerned about this being taught in public schools. To be clear, I didn't do a lesson on this subject but we did discuss rights versus privileges. I've had multiple parents contact the school/get upset with me because of things like his. It's exhausting... Thoughts?
I’m loving these TikToks where the moms calls to opt her child out of in person education. This is one of them: https://vm.tiktok.com/JFjjYTo/
Has anyone sponsored a child through Compassion International (or other charity)? What was your experience? I’ve always wanted to sponsor a child but want to make sure that donation is being used for right place/making direct impact to child’s life
I recently lost a parent. It seems so unfair that if this happened during the summer I would only have to pretend to be ok for 40 hours a week, as opposed to now where 60 hours is the expectation.
Need recommendations for a good mattress that will last 5-10 years and make me sleep like a baby. Budget is max 3-4k. Thoughts?
Went in for a scan yesterday because I was having spotting and cramping at 12 weeks. The OB saw fluid behind the baby’s neck and is referring us to see a high risk doctor immediately. NIPT was negative. I’m panicking. Have any of you been through this?
My firm was one of the firms that gave covid bonuses but did not specify whether everyone was getting it. I didn’t make my hours this year because I was on maternity leave and a bunch of my cases ended 1-2 months before I went out so I had lower hours before I started my leave. I couldn’t make up for those lost hours when I was back since I was working from home with an infant because of covid. I didn’t get the covid bonus, which in my mind is ironic considering the circumstances. (Cont.)
Was anyone diagonized with fetal echogenic bowel in second trimester. I'm not able to get some sleep. It worries me a lot. In ultrasound my baby's bowl has turned out brighter. The more I google about
What is the maternity policy in Big4? In EY we need to work for at least an year and we get 16 weeks paid parental leave+ 2 weeks short term disability leave.
First day back on the job after paternity leave. Never had a harder time leaving the house than this morning...
I’ve been working 12 hours a day minimum since I was 11 years old .. so now 12 hour days feel like play for me. Also put me infront of a screen for 24 hours and I won’t move until I need to go to sleep . I have been like that since I was a kid so now it’s in my blood. I never felt I was working. I’m always curious and my mind goes 1000 miles an hour . What about you? Do you feel it’s work and CBF after 8 hours? Or you feel it’s your hood and you can’t have enough of it?
Have you been seeing any creativity lately around gender inequity, child abuse, LGBTQ, PETA, guns rights, or other cause related marketing? Why not? Because none of them are trending at the moment?
Read divorce thread posted a few weeks back, going through the same, I’d like to ask: how much was alimony and child support as a % of income? Full custody to spouse, have 2 children, area = NE US
Advice please! Want to move my baby boy (9 mo) in same room as my toddler son (2.5 yo). Both sleep through the night and have good sleeping habits. When is a good time to do this? What to do/not do?

If agency/client teams made tomato bisque: "Tastes delicious. It needs hot sauce. Let's add that and pass it off to the sous chef." "Hmm, not sure about the hot sauce. Take it out and add some salt. Also let's put some squash in there. Let's let the head chef take a look." "No, let's go back to what we had before. Are we sure a spoon is what we need for cutlery?" "Forks are huge on insta right now. What if we did a two-tuned fork?" "YES. Okay, the maitre'd thinks we should put the squash back in." "Would it be possible to also put salt on the fork?"

Do creative leaders in the US hire people with international experience? I’ve had several interviews where I’ve ‘almost’ made it but the lack of reasons given to me for getting rejected makes me wonder if my ethinicity or the region of experience is an obstacle.
I have adhd and struggle with anxiety and depression. This year has been relentless. WFH and dealing with stress has destroyed my cognitive functioning. Im not as productive, work quality has suffered, I don’t interact as effectively as I used to. My performance has taken a hit - which my manager has noticed - and I can’t get back on track. I’m really trying. The fact that I’m worried about my job makes things even worse. Any advice for how to overcome this? (Beyond therapy/meds - already doing)
Got this ‘congrats on your promotion’ wine. Is it just me or is the irony too much to bear
Q for my friend.. she’s newish to flipping her own houses and is a contractor. She bought an investment property and is going to do the work on the house. Is it better to pay herself a salary during the work from the investment LLC to herself as the contractor, or just work for “free”? Either way the money is coming out of her own business.. just wondering for tax purposes
Do mid size firms have similar advancement schedules as B4 i.e. associate (2 years), senior (3 years), manager (3 years), senior manager?
I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..
Thanks AA for a diversion to OKC, and a 3 hour sleep on the terminal floor. Thankfully had my blanket from first. #compensation
