Just make sure you research what the salaries are wherever you’re looking because they can vary wildly (usually much lower)

Also remember you'll have to pay the remainder of your tax to the US. So it's the same percentage taken outta your new paycheck (kinda), your salary needs to account for that. Which could balloon it compares to local pay. This is just something I've heard from American overseas. It's not like a straight up double tax. You'd pay off the local tax and the remainder of what you used to pay America, goes back to America.

When traveling for work can we use our personal credit card for expenses or do we have to use the corporate Amex? Also does our corporate Amex get points/perks that we can use for personal usage? At my fiancés company they are able to use a personal card (which then they get all the points and perks) and then just expensive to they company.

With less travel happening, and more people spending time wfh than office, has anyone really invested in a good home office setup? I have the extra space and want to create a productive setup. Would love to hear your advice/ input. Thanks! 🙏

Recently joined a consulting firm and have a corporate AmEx now. I am planning on paying the $95 fee to get the points from corporate expenses. I also have only a chase sapphire preferred. Is it worth picking up a Gold or Platinum card to pool all the points in one place? I eat out a lot and mostly redeem points for statement credit or the occasiaonl hotel room (use Marriott). Don’t do a ton of personal flying. Thanks in advance.

So, recently got phished while staying at Marriott Peachtree Hotel in ATL. Received call to my room at 12:30 am from the “GM” who knew my name (and room number obviously). Didn’t feel right and the night manager said the GM called and told him I would likely come down upset. He then said the issue was resolved and dismissed the situation. Sure enough, it was fraud and charges began to come in. I received 105k points but feel it should be more. What amount of points have you received and what’s?

I’m on STEM OPT and considering travelling to Schengen area. I saw that F1 visas are exempt from the travel ban. But is that only if you are enrolled in a program starting on Aug 1? It seems nebulous so checking if anyone on F1 OPT has had experience coming back to the US from one of the restricted areas (Brazil, India, China, Schengen, South Africa..)

Booked a delta flight from Nassau Bahamas to Newark NJ that connects in Atlanta. It says no plane change, but the aircrafts are listed as different. And i notice all flights on that route say no plane change. How is that possible? The layover is only 45 minutes so given it’s an international connection, i don’t see how it’s possible to connect with a plane change.

Serious question….with all of the pressure on the tech sector, companies freezing hiring, stocks down, companies cutting costs, how are things over in salesforce services? There is a lot of momentum overall for the services side of here economy (relative basis) in the US but a services division of a tech product company may be another matter. I hear salesforce is already slashing spending, cutting travel, etc. would value any views especially from the inside.

I just need to vent about my MIL. She's a wonderful woman, but will sometimes give her opinions when nobody asked for them. We are looking at redoing our deck and got quotes around $30k and she said we can't spend that kind of money. Or, we literally just had a team of docs save our daughter's life and I want to get them a gift and she told me not to because they don't expect it and then after I told her why, said not to go overboard. Idk if it's just a life experience difference or what.

Hello Accountants, I have a question. I have enough credits for the CPA exam, but before I realized that I was aiming for a Master in Accounting and got accepted in my school 5 year program for that purpose. Is there any benefit of getting said master? Or should I focus on passing the CPA exam instead? I just finished my first tax internship and everybody said that the CPA was unavoidable but nobody talked about any benefit of getting a master whatsoever. What do you guys think?
