Boutique firm or Big 4?
I’m a CPA in advisory (IT/Internal audit) but my real passion is personal finance. I’m getting the CFP but I want to know if there’s opportunity in the b4 to get that experience or do I have to quit?
Leaving Deloitte for another Big 4 in a different service line on the West Coast (currently on the East Coast). I would like to serve out my two weeks when I give notice. How do I phrase to partner?
EY is by no means perfect but the way they are handling the virus situation so far is admirable. The situation will continue to evolve and change things but hats off to the best Big 4 👏🏽
B4 or T2 consultants that got into H/S, what part of your application do you think really set you apart?
Will Big 4 let you stay as SM if you don’t want to make partner but are still hitting SM targets? Once you take the promotion BS and partner-promotion-chasing out of the equation SM is quite fun!
McKinsey Analytics: how much M&A work do you guys do? are there people devoted to M&A or are teams organized differently? currently work in B4 analytics and looking at MBB firms.
Do people feel like that have more/less/equal opportunity as "others" being black in a Big 4? I'm basically the only black person on my team and the partner (who I'm cool with) said being that I'm diverse (black and female) and good at what I do I have better opportunity to advance as firm is trying to push more diversity into leadership. Thoughts?
At what age did you save your first billion? P.s. I’ve spent two months at a big 4 how do I get to McKinsey?
Is Deloitte consulting more demanding than other Big 4 consulting arms? (Technology consulting specifically)
Anyone at PWC right now? What’s the company like? Psycho hours? Using modern tech (slack, google sheets, lucidchart, github, etc)? Flexible for Mac/Linux? Bunch of ego maniac micro managers? I am considering an opp there, but had bad exp at KPMG, so I am cautious about going back to a b4.
A PwC recruiting screener and manager reached out about an oracle advisory role and discussed next steps but have since gone silent. Didn’t expect this from a Big 4 recruiter... thoughts?
Anyone went from B4 to a very small consulting firm? I’m considering making the switch after 5-6yrs a B4 but worried about limited brand and recognition. On the other hand it would probably mean faster promotion and more in line with my preferred industry. Anyone made similar switch and can share some thoughts?
If we are working for a Big 4 as a Senior Consultant and expecting a promotion to Manager in the next 1.5 years and eventually want to exit into industry, then does it make sense to exit right now or take the promotion and exit?
Thinking about leaving Big 4 Tax to join Andersen Tax. Has anyone made the same move? Would you recommend?
I see some of my peers leaving tech consulting in PwC to accept a position as a product manager in tech companies like amazon, google, Salesforce, qualtrics, doordash, etc? How is the transition like? Or how TC in a B4 compares to PM in a big tech company?
B4 strategy or general 🐠, would love your advice. Currently, 2 YOE at a well known non B4 firm doing PI/Transformation work. I didn’t get promoted this year because I didn’t have enough experience in my particular group because I was staffed on a different project for awhile. I’m interested in Strategy analyst roles (1 YOE). Will me not being promoted hurt my chances? I’ll probably get promoted at the beginning of 2022. Should I wait until then to apply? Thanks. Deloitte EY PwC

Expecting and offer from Accenture soon as Manager in their cloud practice. What is the salary, bonus, RSU I should expect. Just want to be better informed prior to negotiating.
What practice areas (if any) would be a natural move for a mid-level commercial real estate/finance associate? I started trying to leave my firm in February and, at the time, was super in-demand. Now, with Covid, commercial real estate is slow & I think I'll be stuck where I am for at least another year if I don't make a practice area shift. Are there any other practice areas where my experience would be valuable?
Stop setting up forced work zoom happy hours outside of 9-5pm with anyone you didn’t drink with before this! Please for the love of god.
As much as I support the demonstrations across the country, I cna't help but feel like we're going to see another wave of COVID
I may be a junior, but we’re pitching to a potential client against three really good agencies and my CD wants to go to them with our deck of all 17 ideas. 17... Something tells me that’s too much...
How can I work from Asia remotely for a couple months but be based out of US? I currently work for Accenture and I work with lots of people from different time zones both contractors and employees on my project. I’m willing to seek other firms that may give me flexibility on working and living in Asia for few months so I can be near my family and then come back.
Going on 5 months since I was laid off and I’m slowing losing hope. I’ve exhausted all my contacts, my network, people not even in my network. I feel that I’m never not looking and I’m running out of options. I know I’m not alone by any stretch but somehow it doesn’t make it easier.
Was approached by a SVP and hiring manager of another IB shop. We talked, went great, he texted comp range etc. sent me a resume template to use, filled it and sent. He was waiting to hear back from MD, MD got sick. He took resume to HR actual and said I’d hear from them. Haven’t heard anything week or so later. Haven’t texted VP much as I don’t want to be creeper but really interested. Not sure how to engage at this point. At some level it seemed like a home run.
I think my job is making me physically sick. Every morning I wake up with an upset stomach. Yesterday, I actually threw up from anxiety and stayed home knowing I couldn’t handle going in...
To get MBA right after undergrad or wait a few years? I want to start the CPA process, but upon graduation of my undergrad, I will only have 135 credit hours. But I’ve also heard it’s better to get it later in your career?
Has anyone interviewed for a data role at Square before? What’s it like and how was your experience?
Anyone has experience working at Blackstone in the tax compliance position as avp/vp? How is the culture and schedule?
Super bummed - took my health seriously this year, lost 40 pounds, found my love for running again, and was preparing to post a PR marathon in a couple weeks. My first day of tapering and I suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain. Now that my sob story is over - how do I stay healthy and relatively fit while being immobile for a bit? Do I just really need to focus on diet? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Anyone here in a PMO role or a Project Manager? Would love to know what type of certifications or professional development you recommend! I’m interested in developing a PMO function within my org and would love some advice on what to go after for myself and what to recommend to my team.
