I’m looking at a couple of roles in program management at Amazon specifically in brands, seller central, VOC ads, etc
I’ve been an FBA seller myself on Amazon, have brand registry although I am not an active seller. I feel I have a really unique perspective to offer since I use Amazon as a customer and also used seller central.
I’m curious, do you think this would be an advantage to share or is it something to hide?

If the work you’re doing is unsatisfying, you should definitely explore moving. Just know what you’re getting yourself into

If you’re already billing 2200 and would like to work on more complex matters, I would try and move to biglaw. Some places your hours and the firm culture will be worse, but 2200 should be more than fine a lot of places too. Now that you have some experience, you should be a much more eligible candidate even if you didn’t have the credentials coming out of school.

I did it as a JD+8 partner who tries commercial cases. Got everything I wanted. But the talent pool in a V25 is vastly deeper than in a regional firm, the politics are more complex, and the demands are much greater.

Depends on the firm. Some have much stronger cultures than others. But many have become pretty mercenary in recent years. I was at one V25 that had a great culture until a change in management. Within a few years it became a shark tank. You learn how to fight the fights but it gets tiresome always wondering whose fingerprints are on the knives stuck in your back. Pay a lot of attention to partner attrition. Ask about faith in firm leadership. Look carefully at the composition of the executive committee. Really do your diligence. There are some good places left but their number is declining.
