I moved from salt to m&a tax so fed to ITS should definitely be doable.

like

Doable yes, but at least at PwC, ITS is heavily consulting based which depending you may have little experience with. Would recommend strongly if you did transfer to start on compliance projects to get a better idea of the calculations and how they interact. Overall skills are probably transferable but I worked with a manager my first year that had transferred and while I really liked them, it was very noticeable that there was a knowledge gap.

like

Yes, I’d agree if you switched as a first year senior associate they would give you the learning curve time even a second year willing to have two more years as senior. This manager ended up switching back because at least at PwC in my office they didn’t give him the time.

Anyone else find it weird for their male boss to WhatsApp you asking about how you are (prior to your due date and prior to giving birth)? He has my private WhatsApp because he insisted and I stupidly in hindsight obliged. Just wish I knew how to politely get out of this. I figured I'd email HR like they told me once I gave birth and at some point email him as a courtesy :/ i live in Germany so am already on mat leave hence why he doesn't know yet if I've given birth.

I have 60k in the bank and have no idea what to do with it. Ik it’s a sin to have that much in an account and not making it work for me. I’m not saving for any big purchases either. I’m not too savvy when it comes to investing and really want to strengthen my financial/investing understandings. I plan on sitting down with an advisor. Any advice?

The company I work for is based out of a different state. They’re HR team makes more because of cost of living. Well, that has changed dramatically and over the last 3 years my state has soared passed theirs. Our team has not received inflation adjustment and we still make less than the team in our base office because of “cost of living”. My team and I have worked hard to demonstrate this but we are not being heard. The obvious would be to look elsewhere but other than this issue, I’m happy here

I am a Manager at a big 4 international tax considering switch to M&A Tax in another big 4 or a prestigious firm International Tax group but with more structure work. Which one is better for a long-term plan (~2 years) of going to private with a mid/upper management position that is not compliance oriented? As for me, I was heavy on compliance until recent and wanted to focus on getting planning experience and management skills forward. I am a CPA and an attorney, but not a JD.
