Hi!
I have 7+ years of experience in small business management and operations within the Hospitality Industry (franchised motels).
For these last four years, I've been a technician in semiconductors (to have health insurance and actual income).
What side job can I start that can bloom into a real business? Is there a way to get an online business that I can manage from home for 3-4 hours every day?
Amway/MLM is not being considered as I am not a good salesperson.

I think if it aligns with what you’re passionate about it’s definitely worth exploring. I don’t have any personal experience in that position but I have a close friend that’s in a data scientist role and really enjoys what they do.
I made the transition from data science to quantitative UXR, it is messy but I think if you are mainly interested in users, then deepen the statistics elements within UXR and try to leverage stats in there. Lots of opportunities and freedom to explore things. You won't have the level of ownership over the delivery from research inception to analysis / stats in data science as you have in quantitative uxr.
It can be challenging and interesting but a large portion of the work can also be incredibly boring when it comes down to it. Then, there is the issue of the large number of ridiculous requests you may receive... I'm not trying to dissuade you from the path. Just know that, unless you get really lucky in finding the perfect job, it's going to come with a lot of tedious work.
Balancing requests is something designers can have issues with as well. Imo that's usually a process issue. Ty for sharing your insights!
