I went to a mostly white school growing up and it was exhausting because people would always look for me to be the authority on all things black.
To be clear, I don’t hate the month. I’m just irritated with how superficial it has become. And I now side-eye any non-Black person or corporation,or institution that is overzealous about it.
I realise it's been 2 years of this pandemic, 2020 was a year of extra terror for Black people and Kamala is a disappointment to many... ...HOWEVER, Black history is literally being erased as we speak in these foolish CRT wars. Time to apply pressure to turn the performative into the productive.
I’ve felt the same way as both points above at some point but still look forward to it. Never fail to learn something new and/or find another Black business to support.
