If you must, choose your moment of descent carefully. It’s hard to go back up but you can always go down.
Doing it. Already home at 520pm
Understandable feeling, but very risky. A few years of mediocre work and you’ll be seen as mediocre, and easily replaceable. To stay in the game and not constantly be worried, you always have to chase the work.

To those who did it, where did you end up going?
I'm as guilty of the next for following this sort of golden carrot, but I think the biggest faux pas of any job, but particulary in advertising, is to look for any sort of happiness or fullfilmant at work.
You are tying yourself, and your happiness, to a system that is completely devoid of meaning other than to sell products. I mean you aren't even selling ideas, in most cases, it's pure commerce.
I've also heard "it's not work if you love what you are doing", and while true, it's rare you win that lottery. But I think it's the side projects that inevitably fill that void, so if you have less than three, you really aren't trying to find happiness at work, or in your craft, but maybe just trying to checkout of doing muc h of anything in general.
That sounds like the dude that sez "I want to travel the world, quits their job and two months later they would rather die then sit on another fucking plane in another cookie cutter beige cell with room service.

Was doing it for 4 years. Now looking for that next exciting role. Also my kids are out of daycare so I’m not paying a second mortgage anymore

Not yet. But probably one day.
Yeah.. I’ve been chasing the work and it hasn’t been working. Pretty jealous of my pharma cd friends tbh
Sold out for several years at a big corporate shop and just took a pay cut to go to a more creative one. Don't know where it all leads but I feel good and excited to come to work every day. It's almost like I'm back in advertising.
