Anyone on here finally just say "okay, I'm in my mid to late 30's. I'll take the money, mediocre work and stability." How long can we chase the work?

If you must, choose your moment of descent carefully. It’s hard to go back up but you can always go down.

Doing it. Already home at 520pm

Understandable feeling, but very risky. A few years of mediocre work and you’ll be seen as mediocre, and easily replaceable. To stay in the game and not constantly be worried, you always have to chase the work.

I'm as guilty of the next for following this sort of golden carrot, but I think the biggest faux pas of any job, but particulary in advertising, is to look for any sort of happiness or fullfilmant at work. You are tying yourself, and your happiness, to a system that is completely devoid of meaning other than to sell products. I mean you aren't even selling ideas, in most cases, it's pure commerce. I've also heard "it's not work if you love what you are doing", and while true, it's rare you win that lottery. But I think it's the side projects that inevitably fill that void, so if you have less than three, you really aren't trying to find happiness at work, or in your craft, but maybe just trying to checkout of doing muc h of anything in general. That sounds like the dude that sez "I want to travel the world, quits their job and two months later they would rather die then sit on another fucking plane in another cookie cutter beige cell with room service.

Follow your gut (note I didn't say heart, nor brain)

Not yet. But probably one day.

Yeah.. I’ve been chasing the work and it hasn’t been working. Pretty jealous of my pharma cd friends tbh

Sold out for several years at a big corporate shop and just took a pay cut to go to a more creative one. Don't know where it all leads but I feel good and excited to come to work every day. It's almost like I'm back in advertising.

My start date is in less than two weeks but my international criminality check is still pending (4 weeks and counting). Will they let me join the firm while the security company runs this in the background? I have proof of no criminal record for 3 out of 4 countries where I worked and lived in. The 4th country is Hong Kong and request of no criminal conviction can only be made when applying for a work visa there.

Might be a paranoid mom question - my 16 month old is starting daycare next week. So far, I’ve had virtual interviews/meet and greet sessions with the daycare staff. Today we went in for our in-person orientation and I noticed that my child is the only non-white kid in his class of 8. Not entirely shocking, but in my head (and having seen pictures in their catalog) I was hoping there would be a little more diversity. Should I be worried about my kid feeling left out because he looks different?

Hey all, so I was initially informed my hiring process would be the following (Apple) HM interview -> Case study -> On site I completed case study last week and was informed it would take 1-2 weeks to hear back. I felt like I bombed the interview but ended up hearing back relatively quickly that I’ll be passed on for another interview (not on site). Since I am fed an additional interview before the on-site, does this mean my feedback was neutral?
