Anyone on here watched Broadchurch? I tend to think that the garments and the wigs worn in the UK courts by both the defense and the prosecutors actually serve to not distract the jurors. Let’s discuss.

Love Broadchurch. I went to law school in the UK and now practice in a common law jurisdiction where robes are worn but not wigs. The wigs are definitely an old-timey tradition but I like the robes because they’re an equalizer. As a female lawyer, I find there’s always more attention paid to what outfit we’re wearing, especially in jury trials, so a long black robe keeps it uniform lol.

Are you a barrister as opposed to us attorneys in the US? I know the wigs maybe are kind of outdated but we don’t get to wear the same robes as the judge. I think A2 is right, it’s an equalizer. Thoughts?

Hi everyone🙂

This is my first time posting on this app. I see here working professionals from almost all the big companies, so I would be really grateful if someone could help in switching from my current company.
I joined SoftwareONE as a fresher and it has been 2.4 years working here. I would be suitable for profiles like procurement Specialist, vendor management, customer portfolio management, operations and end to end customer account management (i.e. from RFQs to invoicing)

Thank you

Hi Fishes, Can anyone throw light about Analytics Consulting practice at Tiger Analytics.

Considering to apply there and would like to know growth, learning, wlb factors. Is there a stable leadership and help offered towards career progression. Is there anything that should be taken into consideration/questioned while having a conversation with the panel.

Currently 9.5 yrs in healthtech and LS practice, with exposure to analytics.

I just found out my new coworker has ADHD. While that doesn’t bother me, I have never worked with someone with ADHD. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Is it just me, or is Havas the douchebag of ad agencies?

Has anyone made the switch from firm life (specifically, ID) to a government role and regretted it? It’ll be less pay, but better benefits, more fulfillment, and obviously no billable hours which sounds amazing right now.. I’m just really nervous that I’ll miss the paychecks!

My firm has a collections budget (80% of your billable rate x 1850 hours) and an hourly budget that must be met in order to be eligible for a bonus. The firm cares very little about originations and will reward someone for making their collections over someone who brings in new work. I missed my collection budget due to some odd timing with a client, but originated more than all my peers so no bonus for me. I’ve been at this same mid level firm for 9 years and it’s all I know. Is this normal??

Advice to avoid ethics violations and unauthorized practice of law in the following scenario. I am licensed to practice in PA and live in PA. Recently accepted a 100% remote non-legal role for a national org based in CA but does business in all states. No lawyers in house. Recently, they casually asked me to review and suggest language in govt contracts. Should I tell them I can't or possible opportunity to renegotiate a legal role in house but with CA license?

This is the most basic question, so yep, I’m asking you to take it easy on me when you reply. I have been practicing for about 5 years total. I have been in civil practice for 2 years. These 2 years have been the most demoralizing, unfulfilling 2 years of my life. I have been giving myself pep talks to find the “positive” spin on it but firm life isn’t for me. I know networking is key but do you have some thoughts/suggestions on how to make an exit...crying at therapy is becoming too much.

I took adderall while I was studying for the bar and it really helped.
