Please how can I tell my boss to get therapy? She’s making my life a living hell with her constant perfectionism.

funny

Oh man. I'm still on the process of letting go of my "everything needs to be perfect" mindset. The stimulant helped manage it a bit. But it's still there. I have to meditate and self-talk before every task.

Me and you both. Good luck friend!

Perfectionism is a defense mechanism developed over time. Recognition of this has been my first step towards coming to peace and balance with my perfectionism.

Always! I just came to terms with myself doing things at a certain time and that will be the last product. If not, I know I will be looking at things for days!

I just try to let go of the illusion of "perfection". It's not real and you'll get nothing done trying to attain it.

Yes but this isn't going to get solved with your medication. You will need therapy to help deal with this. Even with therapy I still haven't gotten over all my perfectionistic qualities.

Executive function coaching can help you break down perfectionist tendencies, especially if they're slowing down your ability to drive progress. Have you ever considered getting a job coach?

Looking for some honest advice- After 4 yrs of trying to make the marriage work, I really feel like there is no point in continuing the efforts as they seem to be fruitless. Is it better to separate immediately or would it be better to first find a potential partner and then split? Female here...hoping to make a decision that I dont regret later. Thanks in advance!

Hi people. I have availed enhanced health insurance coverage offered by EY GDS.

Some amount was cut under 'Insurance Deduction' in April and nothing in May and June. In July and August, they have deducted amount under 'Insurance Topup Deduction' and some amount under 'Insurance Deduction Others' with no explanation whatsoever! No tax exemption is also provided for senior citizens.

Any idea folks? Also, whom should we reach out to for such queries?

I have so much anxiety about making mistakes at work, with the latest one over a partner calling out a mistake I made (and should’ve known about) that a senior associate also didn’t catch during her review. I adore this senior associate and actually triple-checked everything to make life easy for her, and yet still somehow missed this ONE (tiny) thing. Does it get better with experience? As in less anxiety and less mistakes on the details?

My 4th grade class didn’t show up today because the teachers are upset that student behaviors that are an issue in music are carrying over to their classroom. I understand their frustration, but nothing was communicated with me. I even thought things were going better this week.

When a job posting says 3-5 years of experience, does that mean a 3rd-5th year associate? Asking because there’s a bit of a discrepancy between the two, since if I graduated in May 2017, I’d be a third year associate this October, but only have two full years’ experience.

Any advice for asking to work from home?
I started my job just over a month ago and the one day a week I work from home I absolutely love. I have an hour commute to the office all other days and I'd love to even just get one more day at home. My manager is not aware of my adhd and I have crippling fear and shame around it so I'd rather not tell him. The office environment I'm in is honestly any neuroduvergent's nightmare. I know it's probably wrong to not tell him but I don't want any judgement.

Does anyone have any experience with Qelbree? I was diagnosed this year (38 yo) and I’ve tried handing it without meds but have been unsuccessful. This is what my doctor prescribed since I am trying to avoid stims. What was your experience like? Thanks!

I’ve asked about this in a couple other bowls without much useful feedback, so I’d like to present it here (with extra context that may be understood by this group).

When I start a new job I grind and break my back pulling 16+ hour days, building crazy new stuff that takes the operation to a whole new level. I’m always up front during interviews and my first few months that I will do this, be their rockstar, but also expect to have my contributions rewarded.

I work as a fully licensed State Farm Team Member. I have ADHD as well as a few other health problems. Due to my problems- I need a job that doesn’t have me on my feet all day. I feel like I’m not appreciated like I should be- am I just burnt out or should I look for a new job? Any job recommendations?

My boss assigns projects with unclear expectations and provides no guidance on how to achieve them.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

How do you approach projects when your boss plays the "guess what's in my head" game?

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I know I’m not alone that people don’t want to return to the office. My ADHD and the open office just makes working from the office a nightmare and I’m feeling really nervous and kind of resentful.

Started software development apprenticeship around a month ago, for the first few weeks my manager (unaware of the adhd) basically had me sit down and watch videos what he believes are relevant subjects (all during office hours 9-5). I'd basically got to the point where I would get home after the day and have no memory of anything that had happened. I finally got given a real project last week and have learned so much from the practical element of it, he now wants me watching more videos.

Growing up I’ve always wondered if I had some form of ADHD since I had a lot of trouble focusing in class. Lately I’ve found myself zoning out during meetings more often and started wondering again. Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.
