Me 🙋🏻♀️ It’s just better suited to my brain and personality. I like structure. Also, you’d be surprised how much consulting there can be within tax compliance – so I get to enjoy a healthy balance of both
Me. There’s more predictability in my schedule and hours. I don’t get anxious about not being chargeable for months. And I’ve balanced my workload so I’m always able to do daycare pick up and spend time with my family in the evenings.
And as PwC1 said - there’s plenty of interesting work that comes out of compliance. I’m involved as much as I want to be for a range of projects because these are “my” clients. I have the relationship year over year.
I like it because I can listen to audio books or podcasts while doing the mindless parts.
I don’t do compliance but have a few times. One good thing about it is you can turn your brain off and listen to podcasts and stuff. That’s nice every once in a while.

Agreed with P1. I’ve always been in tax compliance and I absolutely CANNOT turn off my brain, even in the beginning. Naive
This is my first year of not doing any compliance and I miss it a little because of the break that if offers. Still involved in answering presentation on forms but as soon as the questions are answered it’s right back to other projects!
