How integrated is Dell in their operations ?
From my perspective - working in Biz Ops & Strategy and not on the eng/product side - it’s mainly integrated from the sense that A) Dell leads large deals where there is significant hardware, and VMware licenses or subscriptions might be a smaller element, and B) when customers want to finance their deal via Dell Financial Services. But in other aspects, customers might want to use partners like CDW and our VMware teams do not interfere with the customer’s partner decision since we have to play the long game and be partner-neutral. Plus, if rumor has it that Dell is planning a spinoff of VMware.
VM1, what level are you? Sounds like you’re on the business side. Any thoughts you’d care to share on company, comp, WLB, etc.? Interviewing for a Senior Director gig.
I’m a Sr Mgr in Biz Ops & Strategy and my TC is $230k all-in (base+bonus+RSU). Due to pandemic there were no promotions or raises in 2020. If you have an Enterprise Sales background (selling IT / Cloud / SaaS to CTO & CIO) you should alert be familiar with high stress, high pressure expectations from executive sales leadership in closing deals in the quarter - so from a WLB perspective it’s all about delivering on quarterly targets and doing all the related business activities that support this.

I would not do Velo as a BU. Look at Tanzu that may be a better fit
