Anyone out there receiving retention bonuses? Just curious on percentage of Pay or what they are based on when you receive one.

I haven’t received one personally but when we issue them we start at 15%, and go as high as 30% of pay. If 20% or higher, we do 2 step payments -half after year one, then the other half after year two. Retention agreements are only given to critical staff. As far as reasons - they vary. They have been project based, skill based or even due to a high turnover on a team and the need to retain remaining talent.

I’ve received as a percentage of pay and as a flat rate in the past.

We received one in July. It was a percentage of our yearly based on a tier system. We call it our Risk/Reward bonus

We just paid a $90k retention bonus

Situation: parent of young kids. 100% wfh role. AmazingWLB. Ok comp (210) - dislike my boss.

Op 1: switch to new role in company. Same comp. Much better job & boss. Promo in next 2 years unlikely. (Industry)

Op 2: back to consulting. Minimum 50% bump, max 100%. Some travel. WLB not great. Like the people much better.

Love wlb and remote with op 1 but comp and how it sets my family up very enticing in op 2. What to do..

I went to go hookup with someone who stopped in the middle and told me he wasn’t feeling it. This time this has happened, and I don’t know how to feel about this. Trying not to take it personally, but I wonder what was the reason. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Additional Posts in Salaries in HR

Hi guys! I was laid off by one of the leading IT staffing companies in Atlanta. I have 6 months of experience as a recruiter in addition to a plethora of different management and customer facing experience. I am avidly looking for a new opportunity. Ideally I’d like something 100% remote or hybrid to Atlanta. Any pointer? Anything could help.

Congratulations to all the people getting a job offer in the past three months, but let me ask you a serious question.

Are you negotiating once you get the offer or are you just accepting it because you are so happy?

I understand that the fear is that they will take back their offer, but to be honest that will never happen.

If they made you an offer is because they have selected you over hundreds, if not thousands, of other applicants.

I am a temporary HR generalist at a nonprofit in the DC area. The position will become permanent after December but I don’t know how much I will be earning. I have 6 months of HR experience. Over 6 years of customer service experience and a B.A. in business administration. I’m currently paid $25/hour. What should I ask for in terms of salary?

I received and offer that’s low because I’m not within 50 miles of the office. ( I’m 62 miles) I’m thinking it’s a 10-20% cut but that means I won’t be getting a boost in salary if I accept this role. I was anticipating 130k and only getting offered 110k. How can I negotiate my location only being a few miles outside the “zone”. Bay area
