Is anyone currently using Kendall Hunt: Illustrative Mathematics and can give me some feedback on it as a teacher? We are possibly looking to adopt the series in our district and was curious what teachers using it have to say! Thanks!

Thank you so much for the reply! Quick question: our biggest concern with our current curriculum is that there weren’t enough practice problems for the kids to draw from, meaning it would jump to high level questions before giving them some foundation. Do you experience that with illustrative or no!?

My boyfriend lost his mother few months ago. It was very unexpected. How can I support him going forward ? He talks way less as he’s slowly realizing she’s gone and he’s very sad. I don’t know what to do beside being there for him and giving him space when needed. He said I’m very supportive but I’m a bit scared this will affect our relationship as a couple on the long term. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

I think my brother is an idiot when it comes to his dating life. He recently started dating someone that the whole family loves - really down to earth, great personality, educated, hot and has a career. I just found out my bro is cheating on her with his ex (who is toxic/manipulative, stole money from my mother & doesn’t have a job or trying to get one). From a personality, values & looks perspective, the new girlfriend is what every guy would dream of. Im jealous &wish I could date her instead

Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped. It’s been 3 months without my period and not sure what could be causing it (I’m not pregnant). My diet hasn’t changed and neither has my activity. I run marathons but I’ve been doing that for years now and it’s never impacted my period prior. I have an appointment to see my OB in a week but wondering if any of you experienced this.

Wanted to get an idea. My almost 10 month old baby never crawled not matter how much tummy time we did with her. She only wants to stand and is trying to walk (supported. She cannot pull herself up well and if she is on her back she doesn't know how to get herself up. She can roll over no issues. How can I help her? We do exercises to help her learn to pull herself up and roll her to the side to teach her how to move from back to sitting. I'm not sure how to help her. Ftm here. Anxiety!!!

As a manager of a restaurant, how is it best to address parents with screaming babies/children given that it is not a kid-encouraged establishment? The parents were oblivious to proper etiquette and other guests complained making the parents of the screaming baby wildly offended. How does management appease all parties? Or is it best to protect the masses?

My plan is to transition to Part-time or PRN (once weekly) to spend time with my baby before he’s no longer a baby anymore. I’ve had excellent childcare right now from my mom from 3 months to now-9 months of age. Now that my babe is getting older and learning so much right now I want to be present more for his neurodevelopment. My trouble is… I love the income I make full-time… What age was your child when you went part-time or stay at home? And why?

Pregnant wife is having small portion meals lately, so i asked why she is eating less than usual. She read somewhere that eating too much can lead to oversized baby, making the delivery more painful, so it looks like she may be controlling the portion because of this. Is not eating enough a cause for concern?

How long did you wait to tell your boss you’re pregnant? I’m 7 and a half weeks pregnant and have a subchorionic hematoma so my doctor has been doing twice weekly scans to monitor because of my previous miscarriages. It’s obviously affecting my availability and I want to tell my boss but I don’t know if it’s the right decision.

I want to brag on my kid, but I don’t want to embarrass him, so I’m doing it here. My college sophomore found out today that he ended up with a B in his accounting class - which is remarkable, given that he received a 50 on his first exam and a 70 on his second. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him work this hard - and I couldn’t be more proud. The grades that come easily don’t impress me nearly as much as the ones that are hard fought.

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. Was fine at first while I got thru pregnancy but now I’m not happy & regret accepting the job and pay. I’m supporting others who are making 3-4times my salary. I have 10 yrs experience and CFP, often more than FAs I’m helping. Ask for more $$ or start over being an FA?

I just recently resigned my teaching position for a position in another state to be closer to family. I will be making a lot less money (about 1/2 as much). Am I crazy to give up a high paying teaching position that took me 12 years to get to on the pay scale or is being closer to my family worth the pay cut? Anybody ever found themselves in a similar situation? I gave up tenure too. Honestly, I wasn’t happy living in my home town making the most money I've made. I guess it’s a leap of faith!
