I worked on my company’s proxy this year and it was extremely tedious and time consuming. There was so much back and forth between me, legal, and finance…. It was a pain. I was very happy when it was finished.

I haven't delved into proxy statements yet...from what I know of it the process can be time consuming and very tedious. But the people who do it typically enjoy the overall process.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve heard it’s intense, but I also have seen generally the folks that get into exec comp seem to settle down nicely and overall enjoy the work they do. Part of the reason why I’m curious

After some searching on Fishbowl, apparently FAAS is broken out between: TAAG, Transactions, ESG, Finance Optimization, Risk Management.

If I want to do like 60% technical accounting research and memos, 25% transaction/IPO work, and maybe like 15% Finance Optimization (ERP implementation), can I do that if I am aligned to TAAG? Or should I apply to general FAAS?

I started working as a consultant with EY 8 months ago. Even though I'm content and learning a lot there, I think there are places where I might easily earn more money. I received a job offer last week from Alvarez & Marsal to work as a consultant at the Transaction Advisory Department (financial due diligence team), where I will be paid more fairly (salary & bonus). Should I accept it? Or would leaving EY that early not be wise?

Any advice is appreciated. :)

I don’t love the company’s culture so I’m going to keep looking but would it be worth leveraging the offer with my current org? I’ve only been there for 7 months
