I’ve known several colleagues who live there and love it! Less traffic than dealing with 395, 66, 95 or 267. Quick access to Old Town. Easy access to the city, Reagan Airport.
Bike trail... kayaking too!
I grew up there. As the surrounding areas have become more developed the car traffic has gotten worse. There’s no immediate outlet to a major interstate—you either have to traverse Rt. 1 North or South or hop on GW Parkway to get out.
Otherwise, it’s good for suburban living with the Belle Haven Shops and nearby library (I don’t remember the name of the community library there but, Sherwood Regional is close.), you can get a nice house with some space and still be a within driving distance to Old Town Alexandria and DC.
Also, GW Parkway floods when there are crazy downpours.

I’ve heard there’s a nice golf course near there
It’s real nice, but alas private, with a $100k initiation fee.
Drove past it, it does look really nice with views all along the Potomac. I’m sure the initiation fee is like 100k lol, so not exactly in my budget

Yeah...I play at Rock Creek (public course)
There seem to be some cool smaller houses around there with nice yards that aren’t a million+ which is why we are looking.
I own a townhouse there. Love it easy access to highways. Close to old town and DCA.
