You have to pay the rent whether you’re there or not (sunk cost) so I would stay where you’re happier

I hope you meant “due” 😊 I am! Decided to let go of the lease though. Ended up paying four months but will at least save on the last month when new tenants move in.

🙋🏻‍♀️ I go back and forth. 2/3 weeks at my parents and 2/3 weeks at my apt.

I’m currently paying for an empty apartment too!! The way I look at it is whether or not I’m there, I’m still going to be paying so might as well just stay where I’m happiest and right now that’s where I have more space/the outdoors. Will probably be going back in August though!

Apartments can't die if you keep feeding it payments.

Yep. Probably won’t go back until January. 7 months of rent to an empty apartment.

For a bit I will be, yes! Just for like a month.

TA1 I think the logic changes when you’re planning on being away for a while, which kinda makes the cost less “sunk”... meaning the cost of breaking a lease and storing your stuff could be less than paying rent if you’re away for 6+ months

I’m doing month to month for my apartment until I figure out what’s going on, haven’t been there since March! I feel safer and happier with my family during this time so although it’s been difficult I try to understand that it’s just a sunk cost and it is what it is.

Sublet my apt, thank goodness 🙌🏼

Why do I always see job postings for Pharma and Healthcare agencies? It’s like they can never fill their roles. 24/7 365. If I was in that part of advertising and enjoyed the work, I feel like my job security, promotions and money would be in a much better spot than where I am now, If anyone is looking for a job due to Covid layoffs, might not hurt to suck it up and do pharma work for a bit!

Just talked to the DC Covid Trace Force. I am unexpectedly impressed. I had contact with someone who tested positive, and the Trace Force guy was like, “Can we send you food? Medicine?” And I just sat silently for a second before saying, “No man, but it’s appreciated.” These people are doing the job right. Is there a way I can get Uncle D to send them pizza for lunch?

I’m a 2nd year associate and I’ve been working at the same firm since I started. In a nutshell, I love the work (the practice area) but not the people very much (it’s just not a fit). I’ve been thinking of leaving for some time. I have an opening at another law firm, but my practice area would be different. Should I just wait for another opening in my area of preference? With Covid, openings are rare for entry level associates ...

Question about LEAPs. I purchased 1/2022 calls on a few down in the dumps real estate stocks like IVR. When I read about leaps, the advice was to buy some thing with a minimum delta of .70, So I bought, for example, a 1.50 call for IVR. If this stock reaches pre-Covid levels, and my LEAP is deep, deep lTM, will I have trouble selling it? Thanks, this is my first day.

https://joinfishbowl.com/comment_hvuwp The Single Consultants bowl can be great for advice across the spectrum, but then you always end up getting comments like this guy claiming that men and women are equally harassed and there isn’t enough attention on men for this. There is a comment before this in which I say that it’s absolutely not ok for harassment to occur to either gender, but harassment and fear of being attacked is a constant item women need to think about on a regular basis, and men so not. This was his response.
