Currently a manager, reporting to VP. There’s a need to fill an open director position, who I would report to instead of directly to VP. I don’t meet the years of experience in the posting, but I have been doing the requirements of that posting in my D2D. I do plan on going to B-school PT starting next year. On one hand I can see how working under a director can be beneficial, where I can learn from their experience and have more time to focus more on my growth while in school. Shoot my shot?
Is it worth pursuing the Specialist consultant track at McKinsey? A recruiter reached out to me regarding a role in healthcare. Currently have 5 YOE, no MBA, am a SC at D.

I have an interview tomorrow and I’m having a hard time getting nervous and prepared for it. I know the role well and the company pretty well, but surely could do more to prepare. Anyone prefer going in relaxed? I’m like making myself anxious about not being more anxious... if you have any simple abbreviated tips or ways to prepare that make you feel ready for an interview (industry job btw) I would love to hear them

Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Anyone from FMCG, OTTs, Flipkart or Amazon here? I could use a referral. I've 8 years of experience in Telcom and Consulting primarily. Focus has been in CVM, Product Management and Retailer commissions/Trade Marketing. TIA
Have offers from Firm A (5k employees 1B revenue) & Firm B (2k employees 200M revenue) to come in as a senior manager and create/build a new, niche tax practice similar to what I played a pivotal role in building at a B4. My biggest issue at B4 has been the big firm BS (hard to get things approved, slow moving, high performers not rewarded appropriately). What’s the right balance between the resources/client base of a larger firm and the autonomy/pay of a smaller firm? How small is too small?
Anyone here work in valuation? Do you find the work interesting? Also, are you looking to stay in it long term or using it for an exit opp?

I think one of the underrated reasons the market is trading is algorithms and sentiment analysis. People say they’ve never seen a market like this which is true but tech plays a bigger role than we expect. Many firms literally pick up Bloomberg terminal headlines and electronically buy or sell as a result. This creates higher volume in the market and leads to higher equity prices
TFW you just wanna find out your raise/bonus to determine whether to seriously start lookin for other opps

Big picture question: How did you settle on a FIRE number? Originally I did the simple "estimated annual living expenses divided by 4% rule", but am now second guessing that for many reasons. For example, if I want to live on 70,000 per year, I'll need 1.75MM... but what if 70,000 in 20 years won't be a ton of money? Also, what about saving up for kid's college funds? How to account for the possibility of tax law changes? So many questions!
I'm falling apart mentally due to stress causing issues on my mental health, but I'm trying to stay strong because I desperately need a promotion.
