Anyone planning on trying Scottie Pippen’s new bourbon? I don’t think it’s available yet where I live. I figure for the 17 years he entertained me I could throw $60 at a bottle.

I generally avoid vanity brands (regardless of product type) as it’s almost always a licensed name slapped on an inferior product. The exceptions tend to be when the celebrity owns and produces (like getting into winemaking and purchasing your own vineyards), and it’s hard to see how that’s the case here with a product already aged 17 years. Plus, isn’t the general consensus that bourbon decreases in drinkability with higher ages as the oak overpowers? I know the market will pay stupid amounts for age statements, but that doesn’t equate to good.

It’s different - slight floral notes, a tad less smoke. I enjoy both.

I guess I would like to see Scottie outsell MJ’s tequila brand so he has some bragging rights! 😂

MJs tequila is actually pretty good. You can definitely get better cheaper but it is significantly better than most mega brands. The equivalent in bourbon would be if this is like ER10 good, I don't have faith in that happening lol.

I avoid the celebrity cash grabs, but would not refuse a drink on someone else's dime.

How does one go about negotiating a late start date in a new role? Starting some interview processes now and hoping to be able to delay a start date until early Oct. I see this happen frequently enough (offer is accepted with a start date 2 mos out) but I was wondering if there are any tactics to this or if it’s generally purely situational? Interviewing can take a while so that buys me some time...

I’ve never really taken sick days in my entire consulting career, about 2 years in. I do not want to, and I just don’t get sick often. But I’m wondering if this is something that is valued by upper management when evaluating their talent? Any thoughts from leaders and managers in consulting? I’ll continue to be the same regardless but I’ve been curious is this is a strength.
