When I took and SHRM-CP it was very relevant to my HRBP experience. I didn't prep at all, and I aced it. There were questions like - what is performance management.

I see some recos for classes to take as you prep for the exam. Anyone else have any? Looking to take the exam as well but would love to understand what the options for classes are to help me plan. Thanks in advance!

I’m taking the one from Penn State World Campus since that’s where I’m also currently a student pursuing duo-degree (MPS) and certification in IHRER

I’m thinking of this did you buy the materials

Yes, they were included in the prep course costs

Do you find it worthwhile to do it? What is the benefit? I’ve been thinking of doing it as well

I decided to take it because feel like it would be a good resource for learning and demonstrating readiness for the next level. My professors in my Master’s program and colleagues who have this certification agree that a SHRM certification holds weight on a resume for an HR professional since it tests on practical situations.

Taking my SHRM-CP exam on 12/13. I got an email saying that Mac users will have to reschedule if they have the new software. I do. But I really wanted to take the exam that day because I was going to put tell my employer that I am certified so I can get a very much needed raise.
Idk what to do 😩 any advice?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I have been in HR for 3 years, doing full cycle with a focus on sourcing and branding. My background is in marketing and I’m struggling with how to further develop in HR. I loved all my classes pertaining to HR in college but never saw myself going this route back then.

What trainings have you done and do you think it was beneficial in growing your career AND skills?

P.S. I know SHRM is somewhat industry standard but I’m open to all!

Hello, I am a Human Resource Manager with SHRM-CP certification and 3 YOE. I am working for a non-profit in Minneapolis, with roughly 80 employees making 72k annually. Does this seem reasonable? I am hoping to continue earning more, so I am also curious as to whether anyone has any thoughts on the value of a masters in Human Resources?

I signed up for the SHRM CP exam. Anyone have fairly recent materials they’d be open to selling or sharing? Would love to not pay 700-1000 on access to the learning portal or a class. With my masters, I can’t get EY to cover the certification but it’s something I wanted to do this year.

Hello, I am HR Generalist; 9YOE. I am making 65k with a yearly 5% MIP bonus.I have my Masters Degree in HR management and currently working on my Shrm certification. Being that inflation is a huge issue these days and also seeing what other jobs are giving their HR Generalist starting rate of 75k and up. How do I go about asking my company to look into a job pay evaluation and giving more pay based on what’s out there in the Market? Also, with having a masters is my salary to low?

Hi All, I’m thinking about getting certified in change management but not sure if I should go the Prosci route or CCMP route. CCMP is a lot cheaper compared to Prosci but would it measure up just the same?

I guess it would be similar to the discussion of the SHRM-SCP vs SPHR.

How do you not take a layoff due to RIF (involuntary reduction) personally? I was told it is not personal. All full time positions except 1 were let go.
