Does the UK have tax breaks for people with kids, mortgages, etc. like they have in the US, Singapore, etc.?

funny

Is there any chance I can work as an European (resident in Spain) for a US/Canadian company? Wouldn’t mind going through the hassle of doing my own taxes, as for what I know I can get much better (net) income working for an American company vs for an European company.

For 🐠 that paid off their mortgage, how do you handle insurance and taxes? Our mortgage payment includes that. We are close to paying off the house and trying to figure out what this means to our monthly payments and what process we need to follow (contacting insurance company, county, etc.).

I'm guessing that insurance bill will come in monthly/quarterly similar to car insurance. And taxes can just be paid at year end?

So I just got my first corporate job and as everyone else I want to start a savings account. My idea is saving 10% of my paycheck per pay, how would you guys go about it/how do you go about it?

Last year I was going to take a bit of my savings and buy an investment property since there is a housing shortage, but I worried it was too volatile and didn’t want to deal with the mgmt, so I bought a variety of stocks instead. But now the stock market is in a slump and my portfolio of self-selected picks is underperforming, although I am collecting the dividends. It’s not enough to live off of, though, and I’m hesitant to invest any more money. Thoughts? Any ideas for other income?

I wanted to start a thread. What vitamins / supplements / medications are you taking for your menopause symptoms? I’m supposed to take Estradiol pills twice per day but sometimes am horrible at remembering. I should be taking D3 per my Doctor but when I ran out earlier in the year I never bought more. The same goes for my multivitamin although I’m sure I really need one! I wonder if I should just use natural remedies like Black Cohosh, but that didn't work well for me.

Quitting smoking help - Juul.
Day 2 right now.
Most folks smoke when having a coffee, or a beer or another trigger. With over a year of WFH, turns out my trigger for Juul is work and meetings. After every meeting I take a few puffs, more if the meeting sucked. Lol. How do you manage this? I can't quit my job right now, and other substitutes like carrots or candy are not enough.

I am on H1B. Worked in TCS for 11 yrs (7 yrs onsite).
During great resignation I made my first switch. I was all set to join Infosys then got PwC offer letter 2 days before my LWD in TCS. Had to join Infy as H1 transfer was done.
Now leaving Infosys in 4 months and joining PwC after H1 transfer. It was a tough call but finally I decided to join Big 4.
Again already gave notice to Infosys, all set to join PwC and now Amazon is approaching me for a Oracle apps functional consultant role. Advise ?
