I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

Pandemic is still on, hullo?
Maui is amazing! My brother lives there. Things are slow there now without tourists and lots of places are closed. They’ve been strict about incoming travelers having to quarantine and not leave their hotel room.
While I’d love to go there for a long vacation or the entire winter, we’re still in a pandemic. One that’s going in the wrong direction over the past month. Traveling and putting others at risk isn’t worth it to me. Personally, I believe in science and value peoples lives. It sucks but I can wait until next year to go when it’s safe.
Go there, the people who rely on tourist dollars will thank you.
Get your pre-trip test from a trusted partner (check HawaiiCovid19.com - do not trust other travel blogs) and travel with aloha upon arrival. Take the post-arrival test to be safe and to get a mahalo card. Some of the other responses here are alarmist, but you are welcome as long as you respect restrictions, the residents, and the lane. Wear your mask and accept that many businesses are closed. And SUPPORT LOCAL as much as possible during your stay!!
I’ve been in Hawaii since they opened on October 15 and will be here until the new year. Here are some things that I observed:
1. Restaurants are reopening and many have limited offerings or limited hours.
2. Most hotels started to reopen this week with the vast majority being open by the end of Nov.
3. Rental fleets are stacked up right now so there have been great deals on rental cars.
4. You need to make sure your negative Coronavirus test comes from one of their partners or else you will have to quarantine
5. Going between certain islands require a quarantine. Basically anyone flying to Oahu from the other island do not require a quarantine
6. Many small businesses didn’t survive and some great restaurants that I have gone to in the past are gone
7. Many high end restaurants (if they are open) do take out and it is a cheaper way to experience the food.
8. Many places have reset pricing for more of the local crowd. This will change as more and more tourists come.
9. Local people have been going more and more to the “tourist” beaches
10. Many parks are closed, but my yet many are still open. There is no true rhyme or reason to some of them but make sure to check day by day.
11. Hotels that are open are only allowing people staying or dining at the hotel to come into the hotel. Many places have signage up saying it is closed to the general public
12. Restaurants have marked up their prices on DoorDash, GrubHub, etc. You can normally get a cheap price by just calling the restaurant directly and placing an order for pickup.
13. Gas prices at Costco/Sam’s have is sometimes $1/gallon cheaper than buying from local gas stations.
Museums I have looked at have been open but have closed certain exhibits and have had capacity limits. Activities and classes have been a go and it has been nice to have very small groups. The drawback is that the frequency is much less than before but they still exist.
As an example of small groups, I have seen multiple surfing lessons that just has 1 person/family where normally it would have been a group of people. Also I would recommend looking into booking a photographer to take some great photos for you. They have had a lot of events cancelled and the prices have been very reasonable. I spent half of my life living in Hawaii so have seen the islands many times over, but it is nice to have some great photos of you being on the islands.
We cancelled out annual trip for the last 2 weeks of the year. I am sad but am not taking the chance this year.
I believe there is a “safe on Maui” initiative that many of the big resorts are participating in. I think they reopen in the first week of November. We cancelled our annual trip this year because it wasn’t worth the risk to us, but cannot wait to get back there hopefully in 2021!

Following! Planning to go to Maui this winter as well! Good to know that I'll have to take a covid test before
Similar boat. My extended family booked a Maui vacation (and paid in full) before COVID was even a thing. Now we’re all supposed to go in Feb and it’s dicey to say the least...
Have friends going to Maui for the rest of the year leaving this week. It's fine. Go.
Cool man sounds fun, enjoy
You can only stay on one island - they won’t allow you to move around
PSA this is not true at this time - you are allowed to travel inter-island so long as you follow the testing restrictions of your destination. So you may have to test again on arrival to your second island
