How often are you asked to produce projects where the account person is the day to day client contact? I feel useless in these scenarios. If the account person is asking questions, asking for things

I have 7+ years of experience in sales management, operations management and client management.
Has anyone transitioned from being client facing to fully remote software sales? If so, what were the major differences in day to day? I'm currently on site with customers 3 days a week focused around hardware sales but have an interesting opportunity for fully remote software at a higher pay.

What are the disadvantages when we are going to work in client location through some vendor company?
What company actually does interesting data science work? Accenture has quite a few but it's very project based and sometimes you are stuck doing a shit load of data preparation then linear regression is enough to solve the problem. My specialisation is time series analysis, simulation and constraint optimisation. Want to see if there's somewhere that has interesting challenging problem everyday.

Having major cold feet about attending Duke and taking on $135k in debt. I was a waitlist candidate and just grateful I got in. I have a rough idea of where I want to go after (tech), but don’t know if it’s worth the debt. I currently make $120k in tech but more client manager role. Not a fan of my role, but my company offered to move me in to BD when I mentioned I was leaving. I also feel very behind after talking to students who are all type A and on top of everything. I’m type A at work, but
any project managers out there?? the in-house branded content studio i work for is hiring an associate-level PM. in NYC... eventually (remote for now), 2-4 years experience. at a top-tier magazine, PM for more details!
Folks from Google: What is your take on the hyped up Project Oxygen about the 10 traits of great managers? https://rework.withgoogle.com/blog/the-evolution-of-project-oxygen/
I feel kind of nervous about rolling off of my project after 2 years. Worried the next one is going to suck.
I’ve been in this business a handful of years and have worked on numerous campaigns/concepts/scripts. I find I burn out on energy fast after working hard the first round or two, and I end up literally looking up other careers by the next week. I give it my all every time to deliver to make my CD happy. They usually are, but then the client wants what feels like endless rounds, and then I lose more energy/desire. How do you stay with the process to the end? By week two, I’m completely wiped!

I saw this and thought I'd share. What do you say? “Diversity hiring does not mean a lower bar for diverse candidates. They still need to interview and pass the hiring bar. Therefore, diversity hiring is not unfair to other non-diverse applicants."

What is a good total compensation number to provide for a budgeting position with Amazon Web Services (AWS)? The recruiter asked my range and I would prefer not to low ball myself as I have done this in the past. I have 2 YOE and will have a masters degree by next May. I am located in the DMV area.
Currently work in the advisory practice at Deloitte doing financial reporting but would love to make the transition to Workday. Any firms hiring people that don't have direct experience with workday/not certified but very willing to learn and get certified?
I can’t believe we live for two days of the week. I can’t believe we have to feel the dread of Monday morning every week like we are stuck on this constant loop. Is this what life looks like? A constant loop of looking forward to two days of the week for eternity? I have a hard time believing I should feel like this. I play tennis throughout the week but I feel like weekday evenings are just a tiny escape from the daily pressure and stress.
Some of these posts are ridiculous. They’re like just exited consulting to FAANG/Niche Startup with $150k base and $400k TC with 6 months of experience, you can do it too! Then they ghost or explain that they are a former SWE 😬 coming from MBB. Going to some super Niche role that people with crazy backgrounds are recruited for. Congrats, but not everyone has that background
Just confirmed that I had a missed miscarriage. The yolk and gestational sac are still there. Anyone with experience of taking to medicine to expel? Was also offered the D&C as an option. I’m shattered but just want this to be over asap
Is the CPA designation worth it? For me it would take me 1 year of PREP courses and 2 years of PEP until i can write the CFE. And I am 27 years old right now. Also wondering if it would be crazy to pursue the CPA while learning how to code to be a developer as well?
Hello fellow adults!
Damnit. I just priced myself out of an in-house job I really want. A few months ago, I low-balled myself in negotiating for a different one. This job hunt is killing me. 😐
All the stress and travel makes me feel permanently bloated (and look six months pregnant). Do you ladies also deal with intense bloating? What are ways you manage?

I have a second cell phone for work. No one at the firm has my personal number. Is that normal or do I have trust issue?
For those with a second home, do you rent it out? How often are you able to use it? Is there anything you wish you knew before you purchased? Thanks in advance.
Has anybody just gone and left public accounting for a completely different career? Like 8 years in and peace out!? Only way I think I would leave - industry would just be the same crap.
Is Deloitte tax doing another round of layoffs?

✨ SCRAP OR KEEP? ✨
Hellow fellow designers! I'm facing the boredom of my website/portfolio's look and feel. When I made it I LOVED it, it's still quite cohesive with my personal branding, my creative direction and tastes. I guess it's a common situation after a couple of years with a strong design as it is atm. Should I scrap it or keep it? Any ideas or tips for soft re-design? Any constructive criticism is appreciated 😌

I’m currently a Lead UX/UI Designer with 9 years of agency experience looking to make a change. Seems like there are a lot of different titles/paths out there and I’m not sure what to look for next - Design Lead, Principal Designer, UX Design Manager, ACD of Experience Design?
Also curious to know salaries for the titles above for those of you working remotely in the US? From what I’ve seen on here, I am being severely underpaid.
I have a verbal offer for a UX design position but the written offer is taking weeks, is this common in design positions? Should I hold out longer with benefit of the doubt? Is a verbal offer not sure enough?
i am begging taylor swift’s graphic designers to turn off the caps lock key. this text box is a typography war crime
In an internal where the other designer’s option in objectively not as good as mine. I swear it’s not my ego talking. But the CD seems to give more praise to her. Why does that happen? Is it over compensation? Anyone have the same experience? Would love a CD’s POV.
For those in consulting: do you have an equal path to partnership? Is your partner role the same (comp especially) as general consulting?
Are brand manifestos necessary? I’ve been doing branding for 12 years and both agency and clients put so much focus on it but it never really gets used/read after project is live.
UX lead with over 12 years experience (spent the last 7 working for the same consulting firm). Exploring other employement options as I feel I'm being undervalued and underpaid at 115k. Am I crazy? If not, any interesting companies out there I should be considering?
🎨 Design as you all well know is subjective. However, where do you draw the line of just common sense with a design choice?
I’m curious if there are any designers out there that still tell the youth of today that college is a great idea to become a designer. Anyone? And if so, why?
First thing in my inbox this morning: “This looks great, can we request it in a word doc so we can make changes in the future?”
Does anyone else experience imposter syndrome? I'm at the point in my career where I want to take the next step but I don't feel like my design skills would measure up.
Do you have a "Design System Council" or "Design Council" in your team? What kind of topics do you talk about? Just learned we have that and unclear what it's about.
Do y'all bother giving feedback to recruiters? Any stories on how they've taken it?
It seems t'is the season to be inundated with messages and there are some downright arrogant ones at that. I'm so thankful I'm employed and am not forced to endure them longer than I fancy it.
Is anyone familiar with northwestern Segal design institute? Would love to learn about the influence and opportunities
What’s the average salary for product designers with 1-2 years of experience in San Francisco? Thinking of relocating there but would like to know some numbers in advanced so that my company doesn’t lowball me
Considering moving from more of a marketing / graphic design position to a UX UI role. Thoughts on the best way to do this? What are some good resources to learn as much as I can? What would an employer look for an a portfolio to consider being hired? Any insight much appreciated. Thank you
Help! I have a re-occuring problem where colours are appearing different when creating designs in different programmes. (For eg, after effects and indesign) even though they are both the same hex code and both in RGB. This can be a big problem when working with specific brand colours! Any solutions?
