Have anyone heard about Deloitte & Associates? They are handling my H1b transfer. Are they good?
I’m an immigrant with H1B. Been wanting to get out of my firm so badly but every time I apply outside, I start getting dragged into work at my current firm.I was going through some pretty rigorous interviews (I failed them) and have been in a slump since. Meanwhile my current firm keeps dumping work on me and I can’t find the time to apply outside. Anyone been through something similar? I’m losing hope. The politics is also so toxic, they started screwing me over since my last performance review.
Meeting with a recruiter at one of the FAANG companies. I won’t be able to move jobs because of H1b /GC at least for the next year. Any idea if I should start off with that or should I just try to understand the work that they have been doing?
Can we extend visitor visa beyond 6 months? As in if expires in July, can we extend until next July?
Can employers cut pay of H1B holders (as well as others’ at a company) in response to COVID? Or would they need to file H1B amendments?
Curious if there’s any international students/professionals on here who has tried to go the entrepreneurial route? How did you manage immigration issues and investors’ adversity against legal risks? Would appreciate chat in the DM as well if people don’t feel comfortable talking about their legal status here. Thank you for your help!
Was talking to this girl ( arranged marriage ) over the past couple of months(jun-sep) and things were progressing towards in the correct direction. During our inital conversion in the early stages, I had mentioned everything about my status (h1b. with early stages of perm,i-140 stage) and told her how she won't be able to get EAD immediately after coming the US) All of sudden she said(oct) she now does not want to come to the US as my status does not allow her to work immediately in the US.
Has anyone successfully transferred their H1B visa from one employer to another employer while overseas?
I am almost 2 years into my H1B. They haven’t started my I140 but when I joined told me that I would be eligible in a year of which I am coming up on in this Oct. I got a new offer today but they told me that they would apply I140 after a year from when I join. The pros of the new one is TC more than 18k with sign-on of 15k (not sure clauses for this) and better wrk-life bal). My question is, how long into H1B is it advisable to have an I140 applied for. Would 3-4 years into my H1B be too late?
Immigration 🐠 - If I have an I140, how difficult is it to get an F1 visa to pursue an MBA? After the MBA, should I go through the H1B lottery process again? What happens to my spot in the GC queue?
All my H1B friends, wondering if you guys went through a transfer/extension recently and if yes, the timeline for the process and if you received an rfe or not?
Peeps, what happened if when you got married to a citizen while in the process of getting work green card? Does the company make you return the fee they pay for the application?
My H1B visa transfer with EY has been approved. We have received the e-approval. Can I now resign or give notice at my current firm? The guidance apparently is to wait for physical copy of the approval before officially resigning. But that date is uncertain and I’m afraid I could get the physical copy a day before my start date or a week after that. I’d like to give my firm around two weeks notice and I am scheduled to start on 27th Sept. Thoughts? As usual, radio silence from my EY recruiter.
Please advise on in-hand salary

Can’t decide between Cornell’s Metro vs. Americas EMBA program. They both seem to be great and offer an Cornell MBA upon graduation. Americas costs about 155k while the Metro NY costs 205k. Both programs are 60 credits in different formats. I can’t seem to understand the difference in price. I like the Americas program because of its flexibility (can attend from selected cities across the US so I would not be stuck in NY). I like the Metro NY for the in-person classroom environment.
