Seems to be a lot of advertising folks on here. Are any layoffs happening there? Good friend in media planning. Is that safe right now?
What other firms are experiencing FS layoffs? Sounds like majority PwC based on previous posts.
Has anyone been fired? How did you recover?
Severance package negotiation? Any tips? Expecting a meeting with hr - I’m confident I’ll be sacked soon.
L6 at Accenture - likely getting THE call. Does anyone if there is any severance package and if so, what is it?
What happens if you’re an associate and you’re fired for “performance” suddenly. You had a performance review the week before and their was no talk of this. How do you perceive this?
Aight fam. Spent last year on the PIP, almost got fired mid year, but worked on firm initiatives like a machine through the year, and killed it on client projects. Finally out of the PIP. Fuck yeah!!!
“This global pandemic is exactly what our industry needed.” Okay...now repeat this exact phrase to the hundreds already laid off and all the ones to come. 🤯 https://www.campaignlive.com/article/took-global-pandemic-draw-line-sand-adland-sorely-needed/1678340
A friend was told their firm will cut ties EOY if certain things don’t improve. Friend had planned to quit in the next year anyway (to start their own business), so there is no real incentive to bend over backwards. Friend’s goal is to keep the income for a little longer, but to minimize conflict / headaches. What’s the best move here? Wait until EOY and take the severance? Give 6 / 9 / 12 months’ notice now? Is there such a thing as too much notice? Could too much notice backfire?
For those of you that got coached-out/fired from PA, what was the conversation like leading up to it?
Anyone knows if the COBRA insurance coverage bill that Biden signed (covers insurance premiums for individuals laid off) will show up on employment background check for someone who used it?
Sorry to hear this, CP+B’ers...have some friends there who are safe for now, is this the last of layoffs there (CO and LA)? http://www.adweek.com/agencyspy/cpb-cuts-3-percent-of-staff-in-boulder-and-l-a-as-part-of-larger-restructuring/143982
660k net worth at mid - late 30s still feel insecure due to no access to affordable Health Insurance. Health is ok, some dental issues. But, can we really call this a free country if one health issue can bring you on road? What are the options for health insurance if you try a new job and get fired?
Is this the week I get laid off?
How many client billable hours (excluding probono etc) are you supposed to be billing per month not to be fired? I range anywhere from 130 to 200 hours depending on the month.
Anyone know of any good tools/resources with job prospects for 65+ trying to find employment after behind laid off during COVID? I imagine many have been forced into early retirement. Unfortunately, it appears the discrimination is very real when it comes to allowing “retirees” to participate in our workforce.
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
I’m about to be a second year and have a core utilization of 75% (adjusted 85%). Is this really low? Is it something I could potentially get fired for? No bad reviews, and the low utilization was due
How did you say no or scale back for extra firm building stuff? Between covid and pregnancy I just don’t have the energy right now but don’t wanna burn bridges
Overheard at the airport today. Older, self-proclaimed “non-points chaser” bitching on the phone about people with status boarding ahead of his Group 3. 🤣 #Overheardattheairport #Status
So what's up with this FitBit / fitness tracker reimbursement I'm hearing about? Is that urban myth?
Moving client side at a series A funded global tech startup as the Sr Director of Corporate & Brand Marketing role (lead the creative team and everything owned and earned). Report to the CMO. No VPs on the marketing team currently. SF based company. Offered 180. Seems low (and a pay cut from current role). Any thoughts on this? Appreciate the help!
Just received a verbal beat down from the client for something that is specifically listed in our agreement as theirs to own. Headed to dinner to mainline some wine. 🙋🏻♀️🍷
Anyone knows if the COBRA insurance coverage that Biden signed (covers insurance premiums for individuals laid off) will show up on employment background check for someone who used it?
As someone who enjoyed being in a trading role prior to consulting, would you move back? Not sure what the comp would be for a muni bond trader, or if the position is becoming outdated, but trading always excited me.
So - what do you think the impact of COVID-19 will be on our arts and literature? More? Less? Different? How?
Asking the masses for your take for a family member: If you are presented a severance package, are they negotiable? Have you had success in submitting redlines or getting more $$? How many weeks p
Friend of a friend just died of covid (delta). Not vaccinated. Please be careful out there everyone. I wish this was over but it’s not.
Considering an expert role in healthcare in mid Atlantic region at McKinsey. Any thoughts about culture, wlb, tc, etc? Have read through a bunch of older threads. Opinion seems mixed. Negatives mentioned include more intense work hours than integrative track, second class citizen, slower career progression, lower pay than integrative, harder to get staffed on engagements, poor integration into teams, and subpar exit opportunities. Also read this is changing. Would appreciate recent thoughts. 🙏
New AWMA... curious to know what a reasonable salary expectation is and what the growth looks like for an associate within a growing ensemble. For context, background is more analytical, taking CAIA level 2 in a couple weeks, then plan on pursuing CFA.
Just had my assigned GDM team tell me they've never done confirmations before or heard of CCI. How is it the ET's responsibility to train them on this? SDC quality is getting worse and worse.
What's the best way to ask for a raise? Getting paid 71k with a masters working in advisory 3 years exp
Hoping to get some thoughts on career path? I left an agency about 1.5 years ago (content manager and prev social) to go in house (copywriter). Long story short, agency wants to offer me a senior director role. However, this isn't client facing and would be marketing for the agency itself. I left to focus on writing. I love the company where I'm at now. The agency is small compared to my current company, but the title could be helpful later. Thoughts?
I’m a certified PE health teacher and we have recently moved to a small town in Nebraska. They have asked me to be a full time sub in 6-12 choir and band (only opening and they can’t find a Music teacher) I know nothing about band or choir. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has resources I can use or any help you may have. Thank you
Anyone got a better rate of return than me on their 401k this year? I am sitting at a 17% gain for the year.
What is everyone's opinion on switching firms in order to get the bump in salary that comes with it? Is it worth it? Thinking about trying to go to Accenture or Deloitte.
