With a multi year market bill run, real estate crushing it, cryptos and startups flourishing, the number of millionaires, decamillionaire, centimillionaires and billionaires is growing rapidly. Add inflation in the mix and I worry that my former FIRE goal of 10M by 50 just won’t cut it the way the world is moving. Heck, I have more friends than ever sitting with a household net worth of 10M at 35-40 not to mention all that boomer wealth transfer coming their way. How to plan?

I missed adding parents in health insurance for this financial year. my father cancer surgery happened and I spend 15 lakh from savings and debt. Their is further spends in next financial year April and May for chemotherapy & radiation.

The only way too fix the shortage of drivers is to pay them a living wage. I'm a driver on my second retirement. I drive bus because I have a blast. The kids are great.
I have learned that there are a lot of drivers that are single mothers living at poverty level.
Our government sent money to teachers and left the transportation department out.
Bus drivers deserve better.

I think the quality of tax returns being filed has gone down significantly. One of the reasons is that the “old school” mentality of if you are assigned a tax return you work as many extra hours to complete the return, however people cap their hours and those returns either don’t get done or they are done poorly and it’s better to get filed then to get it late. Leaders in PA need to factor in that the newer generation will not just “get it done” regardless if the amount of extra hours.

So, the temp we hired for tax season, a senior, jumped ship, giving us an hours notice. I’m in industry, 3 in my tax team & our company is expanding big time. I get it that he was offered a full time position but it was a shock & we are having to realign expectations for tax season. My workload will now double. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m a tax senior 1 (will be a senior 2 in October) and just got an offer with a 26% raise at a large public company on their provision team. There’s also an aspect of FP&A and helping with transactions so not strictly tax. All seems super interesting and the team seems great. I’m a little confused on the electric vehicle tax credit. I’m filling out Form 8936 and it appears to have a maximum credit of $2,500. However, I am reading that the maximum credit is $7,500 if your tax/AGI meet the criteria which it does in this case. What am I missing here? The form clearly shows $2,500 so where is the $7,500 coming from? Also, is there carryover to next year’s return if all of it isn’t use? Looks like maybe form 8834 if I’m reading it correctly?

I'm up for promotion to M1 this summer. But I honestly cant stand the thought of one more busy season, and am fairly confident I can land a job in private industry in the next month. Am I crazy to leave as a S3, 6 months short of a promotion to M1, for a job as a senior accountant in private industry? Or should I try to stick it out to M1 and then bounce for an accounting manager position?
