I’m a pretty anxious person and I’ve realized that a remote work environment only makes me more so - not being able to read people’s tone well, email/ping responses being more delayed than they would be in a conversation, the awkwardness of virtual meetings, etc. I’m in therapy and will discuss this there but would love to hear some tips about how people manage work anxiety specifically in a remote consulting environment.
Hey fishes, Can anyone help me with the interview process details and questions I can expect in KPMG for cloud engineer position. Will there be coding expected for this role? I am currently working a AWS Devops resource. Any info would be helpful! Thanks
Deloitte M&A, what is your travel schedule like? Any opportunity to work remote on DD for example (besides fri wfh)?
Resume gap: My position will be abruptly end in December (was informed this week). However, I won't be interview ready in the next 2 weeks. So how bad does a gap of 1-2 months appear to tech recruiters? Common knowledge is it is a disadvantage to the candidate from a salary negotiation process. I'm also told hiring decisions at places like AWS & GCP take time and it might be a few months before an offer letter is received.
Are industry interviews long/drawn out? In consulting, it’s usually 2-3 rounds. But wondering what to expect during industry interviews.
Interviewing with a small internal strat team (currently 3 FTEs) led by the CSO. One VP was awesome, Ex MBB really energetic/excited is with 1.5 yrs in tenure. Then interviewed with the other VP and Manager. They weren’t great, overall not quite at the same level as the VP in terms of professionalism and pedigree. They were very tactical and felt more like middle managers without vision. The latter two seem to have grown up in the company (3-4 years)
Currently working with Wipro for 4.7 yrs L1.5 support analyst with exp on sap support, service now, remote desktop, looking for a switch any referal
Do you think post-covid that companies will ever keep their tech employees in NYC? I’m a software engineer for a financial company and already am probably one of the last people to RTO if/when that happens. But now I’m thinking that this situation has proven that they don’t need to take on the costs of having SWEs in a HCOL city if all of us can WFH/work from a LCOL city with same results. Kinda bummed bc I’m a new hire and I never even got to move there... should I lower my expectations?
Hey Jersey folks that work in Manhattan. Is your office talking about reopening soon? Will you have the option to still work from home?
Some days I love my job. Other days I want to quit and start my own business (work from home), but I have no talents or a big enough customer base to do that 🙃
Having some WFH difficulties ...

Has anyone made a success transition from consulting into product management especially from a non tech background? How did you prep for the interviews and get an interview? Do you like the role as compared to consulting? Did you make any specific verbiage tweaks to your resume to make it sound like you fit the role?
Hi ladies! Need some advice on what to do here: For context: I live in Texas and work from home. I put in a request with my apartment to fix the ongoing air issues in my master bedroom. The maintenance guy showed up without a mask. When I asked if he could please put on a mask, he left, returned and stated that they are still waiting on masks and isn’t sure of when they’ll be getting them. (Cont. in comments)
How should one handle a strategy test for an interview and providing past client strategy example? The interviewer wants to assess thinking skills but looks like the test is for an existing client of theirs and I’m cautious of providing a recent strategy deck from my current place of work for an existing client.
Bain fish, what’s the work from home policy? Do you have to live within a certain distance of your home office?
Let’s say for the sake of the economy the gov advices Americans to go back to work—shouldn’t those of us who can effectively still work from home continue doing so?
Prefacing this with the disclaimer that I only started several months ago so maybe I’m missing something Definitely was interested in the “consulting lifestyle” during recruiting but I think if I were given the choice I would do remote forever with a big reason being that I think I have more time for stuff I like. If I have downtime now I can ride my bike, go hit golf balls, cook, whatever which would not be options if I were traveling or even just working in an office. Thoughts?
For those of you that left or interviewed for a program manager position in tech (faang or non-faang), what TC were you offered? Trying to evaluate an offer.

Thoughts on exiting MBB to revolut? Seems like culture there isn't great, but RSUs could make it worth it?

Quick question - if I am in an SPG at the moment and have one stay that's 6 nights, 3 in 2016, 3 in 2017 (checking out 2017 obviously), do I get 6 nights towards 2017 status or 3?
Anybody have tips on how to see a therapist if you’re expected in the office 5 days a week and there’s nowhere private to take a Zoom?

How many people changed careers or wanted to change careers as soon as you returned from maternity leave? You or people you know? I couldn’t care less about advertising right now. Does that feeling go away?
Ladies, I had a breakthrough with my boyfriend and I am so proud. I have encouraged him to go to therapy for years. He grew up with a father who is emotionally abusive. He felt like he didn’t need to go because he could just “handle it” (part of the toxic culture he was raised in) so I stopped pushing. Yesterday he told me he was going to therapy to try it out, I said okay, and made him a coffee to go. He came home, hugged me, cried, and read me a list of things he was working on. 🥺💛
How do we encourage our agencies to hire based on potential, not experience? Everyone wants diversity but everyone wants cookie cutter award-winning creatives too, which often don't necessarily match
