Hello TCS fishes have question about TCS BCG what document is needed if I have gap of 1 year after HS to prepare for competitive examinations?? And within how many days after accepting the offer letter all the documents needs to be submitted for BCG? Including resignation acceptance

Have an opportunity to join a law school friend of mine at a small boutique appellate firm. Background is big shops (Big4 post law school) doing niche area of corporate deal work. Perhaps a good opportunity to have more control over my work and promises of growing the firm and taking the reigns one day. I don’t work in big law, but some of my classmates,who are going into big law, are bragging about the low number of billable hours they are required to hit. I’m hearing 1,600-1,800 billable hours. Is this actually true? Are some firms paying Cravath and only requiring 1,600 for the year? I know it depends on the firm, but can anyone actually confirm this is their experience? If so, then I’m a little jealous 🙃

My firm is set to return to the office on 9/1. I think that's BS and we won't make it since the pandemic isn't slowing down, but anyway - I'm at my parents' 750 miles away from the firm (I drove here, ~12hr drive) and I'll take 15 days of PTO from 9/14 (firm told me to take them).
Is it OK if I ask them to let me continue WFH between 9/1 and 9/14?

I have a large client about 20% of revenue who is consistently missing payment dates, I know they’re in financial trouble. How can you nicely say I don’t want to have you as a client anymore?

PLEASE HELP! I’m a first year commercial litigation associate at a boutique firm. I am deciding between two offers. One is to go in-house paying roughly the same as I make now. The second offer is from big law as a commercial real estate associate, paying double.

I would love to go in-house and never worry about billable hours again but the big law money is super tempting. Advice?? Is the money really worth it?

(FL) So I currently work in ID, storm claims etc., and would appreciate any advice the great people here have.

I have been practicing for about 1 1/2 years. My current case load is approx. 80-90 cases with very little supervision and a shared assistant. This is essentially impossible to keep up with and the pay is horrible.

Do you usually get a warning before being let go for low hours? July was my worst month by far (like 130 hours) and feeling stressed.
