Anyone successfully exited from fraud/litigation accounting role to other consulting or industry roles? What’s the current role? Every recruiter I talked to is saying how niche the dispute/litigation area is and it is extremely difficult to transfer out of it

I feel like internal audit or compliance roles would still be available. Accounting if you have your CPA.

I know a a decent amount of people who went from forensics to FP&A and more finance-type positions because if you do valuations work for litigation you probably have decent modeling skills

like

It is. But not impossible or without precedent. Check LinkedIn, you’ll find people who did it

Depends on what other roles you are looking at. You can always transfer to audit if you want tho

Hi everyone, I am looking for ideas on how to pivot out of the usual month end close cycle. A remote job ideally. If you were previously in a similar accounting role and switched, I would love to hear about it as well.

My Accounting background is:

3 years GT Audit - manage small team, manage engagements,

2 years Industry Accounting - manage small team, improve monthly processes, month end close, reconciliations, generate financial reports, generate budget and forecasts

I’m in IT in a large corp and I don’t know what to do. I’m the systems engineer and I planned around what I thought was a straight forward concept. It appears what I thought would be possible was wrong. Everyone celebrated thinking I’d figured it out, including me. Were spinning up a full team to build it and I’ve exhausted all avenues to find an alternative solution. There isn’t. Horrified this is a career limiting situation….

Recently accepted a great offer from one of those startup-within-a-large-company outfits. The startup farms out the hiring stuff to the larger company. In the new hire paperwork, I noticed it said the comp was based on my being in a Tier 1 CoL city. Prior to accepting I'd mentioned to the startup I was looking to move, and they said it shouldn't be an issue. Will they adjust my comp down if I move to a Tier 2 city? Startup is fully distributed and remote.

New corporate junior associate here. How do you gauge whether you are supposed to finish an assignment over the weekend or if it can wait until Monday? If you get an assignment Friday night, do you just automatically work on it on Saturday or do you ask the partner? How do you ask them (i.e. your exact email response)?

Hi everyone - ex-big law here (one year), and since then I have been at a boutique securities law firm out of NJ/NY. No billable requirements where I’m at and deal flow is decent enough (most weeks I’m billing 35/45 hours). They do not pay market. MSK (Mitchell Silberberg and Knupp) reached out to me and may be getting ready to make an offer after two rounds of interviews. Has anyone heard how their capital markets group is? Any tips or recommendations? Thanks!
