Awesome thanks for the info
Did it last year, if you don’t have solid command line skills I’d recommend getting on that before your time starts. You live on it
You're in cyber defense? Or cloud? My buddy took it and said it's way harder than CISSP. Is ACN paying for the test or training?
Bunch of friends took it. Fun test that is basically 100% hands on. Not at all like the cissp or most security certs
@A1yes, they are paying for both. CISSP was a joke I finished it in 85 min. Was wondering if anyone has any tips besides “try harder”? I’m excited to take it but don’t want to fail lol
@slalom, are ur buddies at ur firm or different? If at same how much pen testing do u guys do?
We dont do pen testing.
My friends that were studying for the ocsp (or have it) work mostly for red teams.
They said that knowing linux, python, some assembly was a plus.
Also they all expected to fail the first time so that took the pressure off
@PwC1im good with command line. What office are you out of? Tyson’s?
Got my OSCP 3 years ago on my 2nd attempt. Failed the first time around by about 5 points. Extremely technical and hands on exam. Definitely a differentiator when staffing pentest engagements. Our internal pentest group of 20 odd people all have their oscp and most of us are working on our osce. We’ve won large scale pentest engagements over other big 4 competition due to this cert
I should add that the exam is entirely command line based and I literally didn’t use a single GUI based tool for it I would recommend going with the 90 day lab option so you get the maximum possible time to prep for the exam
Yes hard as fuck but doable just study up and take ass and kick names
Good luck. I've been looking at it too.
@slalom do you guys do forensics or cloud security work
