Hello Fishes,
I had given interview Mindtree and cleared both technical rounds. On Tuesday 29 March 2022, I got a call from HR for the final discussion. After that I have not received any response.
I have been calling the HR and her manager, both are not responding to mail or calls.
Is there a way to get some information if my candidature is still in progress or is this delay natural? I have another offer from another company, but am more interested in joining Mindtree.
Portfolio is coming along nicely... I think
Anyone here attending Out & Equal next week? ☺️

Dude. Don’t take drugs before a meeting... go from being anxious about a meeting to anxious about how you’re gonna find a new job if it doesn’t sit right, someone knows, and you get fired.
Have you tried therapy? Has helped me tons. That and quitting drinking
Cognitive behavioral therapy if you don’t want drugs. Look it up, you can get a workbook to do it yourself if you want.
You’re not alone. Even the best presenters have this anxiety. Practice like it’s a play. Over and over again. The anxiety won’t go away but you will realize early into it that you got it!!! And the rest will fly and you will be like “oh shit I did it”. The more that happens the less the nerves the next time around etc etc etc. But people do take things to calm the nerves before. Just may not be the best if this is a long term career
Beta blockers!!!
Then try the drugs. I know a lot of people who take them. My boss does it before he flies and it has a lasting effect on the meeting he attends where he isn’t worried about what he’ll say etc. another friend of mine takes it and I’ve noticed he’s become way more relaxed and less uptight. Gotta find the right blend but there’s no shame in it.
Or like, smoke a J
I second beta blockers, which just stop the cycle of physiological symptoms increasing your anxiety. But along with looking into cognitive behavioral therapy and practicing some techniques to control your breathing.
Hit the gym absurdly hard in the morning. Best full body relaxer in the world everyone seems to ignore.
Try improv. I used to get nervous and talk too fast or shake a little from nerves. But improv classes and performing on stage made me dramatically more confident in presentations at work. Part of that is practice speaking in front of people and part of it was learning to be comfortable ad libbing without the fear that I'd say the wrong thing.
Get your engine running right. Quitting smoking, HIIT Training and Whole Foods did wonders for my anxiety. And practice. Every success you have will chip away at that irrational fear. Good luck in whatever you choose!
@OP thanks for this post. So nice to read all theses supportive. I also suffer from nerves during presentations. I've tried the 4-7-8 breathing technique as well as power poses. They did nothing for me. Recently I randomly stumbled upon what works for me: Come up with ideas I really believe in and care about, and lose myself in the work while presenting. Focus entirely upon getting your ideas across clearly. I know that sounds obvious. But so often I have to present work that I know is bad, and I think that contributes to the shaky voice and inability to breathe. Presenting to someone I want to prove wrong is also helpful, a weird sense of confidence takes over when you present with an "Oh yeah?" attitude. Take deep breathes when you pause for emphasis.
I think I’ll talk to my doctor about beta blockers. I’ve tried almost everything else y’all recommended. It’s ok to get help when you need it. If it helps my career then why not?
If it’s a morning meeting I’ll skip coffee until after the meeting is over
Therapy, improv, meditation techniques, practice alone at home, while standing up, not in a chair, what you want to say out loud, just hear yourself saying things and let it roll a bit unscripted. Don't take drugs just because, that's not going to fix the actual problem. Do the things above to grow your confidence and yourself as a person so you're better able to deal with life. Lastly, being nervous is healthy/not wrong, your body is releasing adrenalin, which is totally biologically normal. Get info and do some of this stuff, the more educated you're on all of this, the less "scary" it will be.
L-theanine. There's a chewable form, no side effects/drowsiness, just quiets the extra jitters and helps you focus. Like a volume dial - I suggest trying it at home one night so you understand how it feels and then you won't stress about THAT in the meeting as well
Drink a cup of CALM
It’s okay to be nervous- it only shows you care. Don’t be hard on yourself for appearing human. And remember, you’re interviewing them too.
Beta blockers. Keeps the jitters from overtaking you until you figure out how to manage the stress w/o meds
Skip on the coffee that day.
AE1 - not funny.
