Anyone take Uber black for early morning flights to feel safer? Any pushback from project leadership when you did so?

Due to previous scary experiences, I take Uber black when I arrive past midnight and know the airport is in a less favorable area. I’ve noticed the drivers appear to be less shady the more expensive the car, however, you should use caution with all.

Yes I use black. No pushback. In fact had an MD recommend that I do so because regular Ubers can be sketchy, bad drivers, don’t take fast route, get lost etc. Said it’s easy to justify professional driver in business context if ever pushed on it.

I don't feel any safer in an Uber block than any other type of Uber... Have yet to have an unsafe experience.

that said, I usually get an Uber select because they're better at navigating LAX and will tend to drop you off on the lower level, saving time.

Yes I use black car. No repercussions. PPMD on my last project pointed out that a scheduled car service (which is allowed per our policy) would be the same or more expensive.

Just joined FB, sorry if this has been brought up.
Just used Amex points to buy Delta flight (didn’t transfer points to delta) and still got MQMs. Great if you’re on the verge of next medallion @ YE

Just bought a house. Knew we had some wood rot on some of the windows and doors. The inspection report provided an estimate of $11k to fix the wood rot - seemed fair. Just had a window replacement company come in to look at it and they provided an estimate of ~$30k to fix the wood rot and replace the 6 windows and 1 sliding door. That’s seems like a lot of money but I’m told it will last for 20 and will only get worse if not fixed. Any thoughts on similar experiences?
