VP of front office is a good exist opportunity. VP of a back office role of a bank is miserable
I know someone who went from Accenture -> PwC -> Bank VP and things seem to be going well with him. He still works at the bank.
VP roles in FS are a dime a dozen. Also, strategy in FS sounds too fluffy.
I left a bank VP role for a SA3 role. Bank VP is an officer title. Some have zero directs some have 50 person teams. Pay range can be $100k wide. Need more info bc you can have VP Manager making $160 base or VP Individual contributor making $115
He senior associate roles prepares you well for a bank vp role
Agree with K1 basically VP is only a big time titles for ibanking
SA1 tell me more. I am also an SA3.
I worked as a middle office VP advising the business and working with the back office who focused on getting us the relevant data. Very repetitive work that was technically difficult, so managers were generally 35+ years old. Pretty cushy 9-6 gig with 3% raises on base and bigger bonuses. Advantage of consulting is moving up faster, then you can go back and jump a few rungs. I'd say wait until you make manager in consulting then start looking for something as a VP and you can find those $160k jobs.
Or even a SVP if your clients are banks
