Honestly, some people may say it's about connections. And it is. The thing is that I am not a people's person. And I find this exhausting. If you're an expert and not a sales person, you only need one or two connexions : people/businesses with such said connexions. Create a commission-based business. You bring me people, you get X%.

What do you consult? I might be able to help you.

Word of mouth. I’m not a sole proprietor but have cultivated many consulting gigs. I did not mean to, and honestly I don’t have time for them, but people constantly ask me for help with their businesses. People I’ve met at events, in networking groups, etc. I do little bits hourly here & there, and then they’ve referred me to their colleagues & so on. If I were trying to be more aggressive I would ask (nicely of course) for referrals

They will be dependent on what industry/work you do. Figure out the ideal client type and determine what events they are going to. If you have a client, ask them which conferences they go to.

Should I join on senior support role and then switch for Devops after preparation or should I stay back in TCS for some time and switch after preparation? In TCS my designation is system engi.

Very specific to retail and/or hospitality in-house roles: has anyone found a good solution for predictive scheduling? Our retail division has one set of software for scheduling and one for payroll, and neither of them can handle predictive scheduling compliance issues unless they’re used for both the scheduling and payroll functions. I’m coming up empty on ideas for them to bridge the gap, but I’m also new to my compliance counsel role, so I would be overjoyed if anyone has suggestions.
