Anyone that works on at Amazon that can speak to the culture and work life balance? I have my final interviews on Thursday and Friday and thinking of cancelling because of all the horrible things I heard. I do not mind working hard but I also not looking to be on 24/7. I also heard people are mean and stabbing in the backs happen a lot. Is any of this true?
So finished interviews with PwC early last week. The recruiter let me know Friday that they want to move forward with an offer. I followed up with the recruiter earlier this week to see if she had an ETA when the offer would be ready, what the base would be & if she could send the benefits package. She responded basically that they are moving forward with me and ignored all my questions. Asked again this morning & nothing. I have other offers but this is the one I want 😩 what do I do?

Hello fishes !
About to be offered a position at Deloitte London as SC. Exp : ~9.
Visa sponsorship is needed. I foresee a possible negotiation on compensation from Deloitte.
Not sure of the estimate yet but I understand it would be 55-60k as per other fishes . Should I settle for a lower comp while employer pays one time sponsorship & migration costs or bear the migration costs self and chase a good salary . Which is better ?
Note : moving to UK with spouse and kid

Hi HCL Folks, I recently( June 2022) joined one product based company in Noida. My CTC 25 LPA fixed and yoe 10.4. Now I got offer of 31 LPA from HCL so just thinking is it worth to join HCL as they offered me E3 band and associate consultant position?

Y’all I recently enrolled here to ask you THIS question. I accepted an offer this week for an interior designer position with 65K + benefits. I’ve been freelancing since 2018 and have 1 year relevant experience in HTX. Do you think 65 is below market or above?
I also created a bowl where people can ask questions related to interior design. Please come and join:
Should I ask for more? Should I work “less?” I was rehired with a NJ ASC as DON knowing help was desperately needed (prev DON of 3 yrs had no interest in learning the center). I worked as staff RN for 4 yrs - went per diem to go FT at a hosp ASC as staff RN for 1.5yrs. I settled for offer less than asking (100-120k) & renegotiation after 6 mo. for the DON position. I was given +8k - still below range - after 4 mo. To ready for inspection, I’ve had to do “OT” admin & often help clinically as RN..

Do in house funds counsel often take the lead on drafting PPMs, LPAs, etc.? What should requested comp be if, for a mid/senior associate level position, that is the expectation (along with evening/weekend availability). Assume this is a multibillion dollar fund/family office.

While I’m excited about the “tenured A/C offsite”, I’m frustrated that CV is expecting us to share a hotel room with colleagues.
Based on all of the sources (eg friends who work at a different company, CVers who have worked elsewhere) that I talked with, an employer should not expect employees to share hotel rooms during business travels. It just makes me feel belittled as a CV employee.
Moms, my son is 5. He’s potty trained for no 1 but haven’t been able to successfully train him for no 2. He’s constantly constipated (genetics and not enough water) and always ask for diapers when he needs to poop. Any effort to take him to the bathroom results in him being “poop shy” and he can’t poop. Days of this happens and he ends up more constipated and I would have to give him the diapers so he can go and be in less discomfort. Suggestions/advice?

I’m almost always the only woman, woman of color, young woman in any meeting because I’m a technical product manager. I own a major product and I’m great at my job. But it always sucks when there are a bunch of white men, they find it awkward to pronounce my name. So they end up talking amongst themselves about my product and I have to interject. Any advice on how to deal with this?
Question: I've had 2 opportunities cross my path in the past week. One is on the on the way towards a pivot I want to do and it really the one I think I'd want but the 2nd came through a former boss, is $20k more a year than the first, but only slightly different from the job I have now. I'd be stupid to let the latter pass waiting to hear about the former but it's not 100 percent down the path I want to follow. I'm torn...Advice?
I've always been asked why I found a "proper" job at my 30s and wasted my years in unrelated jobs like call centers and inhouse calls for installing Windows.
I can't seem to make them understand that in 2008, it was impossible to find an IT job in Greece as a woman. I had certifications and knowledge but I couldn't even get a callback. I would send the same CV as a man, and they would call immediately.
Now things are different but still this question comes up and I'm struggling to answer it.
My boss made a offhanded comment about the size of his penis in a team meeting the other day. I’m the only woman on his team and I suspect he forgot I was there. Ever since then, he’s been acting weird… avoiding me… walking on eggshells.. etc.
I have a 5 yr old son… talking about penises does NOT scandalize me. But now I’m worried my boss is going to find a way to fire me out of fear he will get accused of sexual harassment. Suggestions?!

Hi all - I am currently switching companies and positions. I lead a team of 30 ICs at a smaller company and will be moving to a MUCH larger company as an Operations Manager leading <10 leaders. Anyone know what that pay range might look like? (Sorry for the lack of detail in company names)
Someone posted something earlier that brought back awful memories for me. I'm from the Caribbean, living and working in the UK. Well educated and capable. Yet at my old job, if I joined in a conversation one of my colleagues used to say things like, "Wait - the men are talking. Wait your turn." Or even worse, "Hang on, all I heard was, Blah blah blah coconuts!" Or the same colleague would repeat something I said in a hammy Jamaican accent - I'm not Jamaican anyway. Annoyed just remembering it!
I’ve got to write a mid year self-review. Does anyone have tips for what to put in the ‘super powers’ section and ‘areas of development’? I tend to have low self esteem and think I’m bad at everything, so it’s hard to know what to talk about. I don’t want to point out all the things I think I’m bad at and highlight them. On the other side, I’m not sure what my strengths are. Any suggestions for identifying both strengths and weaknesses?
I’m close to getting an offer, but starting to feel very anxious about a potential job change. I’m not happy in my current role (not a great product, people are awful to work with). But feeling nervous about something new also being bad.
1. How confident have you been about making a job transition before?
2. Have you ever regretted the move? What have you done next?
Currently I am working full time at IT service desk and was thinking to enroll into a degree program. I completed 2 years computer programmer diploma almost 5 years ago and found that I have no interest in programming. I do want to get into business analyst, scrum and IT project management kind of roles. Is Bachelor of commerce major in Business Technology management a good degree program to enroll? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Any female UX designers working for Amazon? Would love to chat about the work, culture, work/life balance etc.
I wish I had found fishbowl and this bowl sooner in my life. I love the advice and anonymity this platform provides. Just feeling grateful.
I'm really good at taking constructive feedback and hardly ever take it personally but I switched teams early this year and everything discussed as a team, always feels like a personal attack. One of my team members constantly feels the need to call out my work and I get constant feedback from my manager about what I'm not doing right.
I feel mentally tired trying to do my best work and keep them happy at the same time. I don't understand how to think about this in the right light.
OK fish! A couple of strange things have happened and I have a question. What can recruiters find out about your job seeking activities. For example, recently somebody in a senior position said “they just excepted a job with you, but they are still engaging with job postings on LinkedIn.” Can a corporate company know what you are doing on LinkedIn?
Hi All, which is better for future careers “Senior consultant” at EY Or “project manager” at a local large organization?
I’m currently a business analyst and recently I was offered a promotion to Project Manager.
Meanwhile, I got another offer from EY as a Senior Consultant
My current company are willing to match EY offer and they want me to stay.
Part of me wants to join EY as it’s a big name on the resume and I can learn a lot from it BUT another part of me wants the PM title!
